Stat of the century! The Bengals had never scored an Offensive Touchdown in any Overtime game in the 50 year history of Overtimes. 44 times they went to OT and 44 tiems they didn't score a TD, how is that possible? but it's the bungals so you'd expect it.

"It took 50 years, but it finally happened: For the first time in franchise history, the Cincinnati Bengals scored an offensive touchdown in overtime.

Since NFL overtime was instituted in 1974, the Bengals had played a total 44 OT games going into their Week 17 game against the Broncos and not one time did they score an offensive touchdown, which is almost unfathomable.

The Bengals defense scored an overtime touchdown to win a game back in 1998, but the offense had never done it before this week.

The drought finally ended on Saturday and it ended dramatically when Joe Burrow hit Tee Higgins for a walk-off 3-yard touchdown to give the Bengals a 30-24 win over the Denver Broncos. "

This is indicative of their long-term ineptitude. IMO this resulted in their inability to force an overtime. Other factors include 1) their lack of reliable deep threats over the years, and 2) a number of quality FG kickers which allowed them to play for a FG rather than stumbling into a big play strike. Playing right into their conservative nature

IIRC they did score the 1st OT touchdown in an exhibition game when the rule was instituted. Undoubtably a Kenny Anderson pass to a long forgotten WR. I never dreamed that it would take 50 years for it to happen in a regular season game.

Bengal fandom is an exercise in futility. Paul Brown placed OL and DL at the top of his list. His son and grandchildren are more interested in flashy toys and gadgets. JMO

wowzers!!! and if you;re a reds fan you have their current owners who do it just for the money and have no interest in spending when it comes directly out of their profit margins, then marge schott before that but at least she brought a title. and in upper ohio you've got the cleveland browns ownership, arguably the most inept in sports, so something they must be drinking in the water lol

You know what is crazy is the frigging Colts letting the hapless Giants look like the Lions today. I just can't believe my luck as all I needed was the Colts to win and I would hit my parlay for $200+.

Still time left, but I thought this pick was a gimme.
