I don't understand the so called "Experts", and where they get their thought process. Of all of the CBS Sports experts, only two predict us to win outright, and all of them pick Minny to cover. Did I miss something? Are they not a crappy, middle of the road Big Ten team? We don't have absolute top tier talent on our squad, but we're damn sure better than they are.
That's what makes this tourney so exciting. The better team doesn't always win and ANYTHING can happen in 1 game. Just ask Virginia who became the first 1 seed to EVER lose to a 16 seed. Virginia would have beat that team 99 times out of a 100 but in this tourney, that 1 game result is all that counts.
Hopefully today, the better team (the Cardinals) win.
Its not the size, remember the Cards won an asterisk Title with midget guards, but both those guards were of NBA caliber. At least NBA for aeason.
Size did hurt the team against certain opponents. If you're going to have small guards/backcourt they need to have elite quickness, ball handling, (Siva) and at least one of the two needs to be able to create a shot for themselves (Russ). And Russ had elite quickness as well.

NBA caliber and an All American.
They both possessed the speed, quickness, instincts, shooting, ball handling and just overall toughness.
I do like big guards , but you need at least one small guard off the bench.
