Another thing I noticed when I scanned through the channel is that their football stadium was only half full.

Talk about a failure to meet expectations; after the win over UF, BBN was talking about SEC Championship. Losing to USCJr and now Vandy at home …….. any thoughts about Stoops career expanding beyond Lexington is diminishing rather quickly.

UK is in a tough spot. Stoops has had a good run. The reality is they are in trouble. I don’t think NIL is going to save them either. I guess it depends on how the SEC does it pod system. He has done a wonderful job taking advantage of a down SEC East. Those days are over. Florida, TN, UGA, even USC jr are recruiting really well and seems to found the right head coaches.

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma they will go to 9 games. Ouch.

No coach consistently out coach more talented teams with good coaches. It doesn’t happen. He should leave now. I think Nebraska makes a ton of sense because the Big Ten fits his style of play to a tee.

^ Makes too much sense. BBN has some that think Auburn is wooing him. Time will tell...we shall see...rumors abound.

I agree with you though...if he wants a change of scenery...Nebraska is his better match.

A final thought...I feel more encouraged with a loss to CU then UK must feel about their historical loss to the worst program in the SEC maybe in all of CFB. Imagine their burn today!!!!:Do_O:rolleyes:;)

Lol...do you remember at the beginning of the season when UK fans bragging about their QB and roster and competing for the SEC title. WOW how things change in a few weeks

" Were going to Atlanta. Ive already booked a hotel."

" Levis will win the Heisman and be the number one overall pick"

" St Peters cheated. We need a do-over"

When you talk of bad losses. Really, really bad losses, UK, a ranked, 17 point home favorite against a 0-28 SEC bottom feeder, that might have created a whole new definition of what a bad loss really is. Careers end when something like that happens. Love of the game gets killed. Programs don’t always recover.

It’s basketball season and with a avg-below avg team football season is now over in a majority of the kitties eyes. Football will always play 2nd fiddle in bbn!

There's something to this I believe. BBN totally engaged with this group while they were in the hunt for an Eastern title. The loss to USCjr and subsequent thrashing by the Vols took the air out of the fair weather portion of fans and I really think that the empty seats at Kroger(or whatever it goes by) affected the vibe of the players.

There is one commonality between UK and UL football; the fans will not come out and support their respective teams “game in and game out”, particularly when they are not winning. When I see the fan support in places like Knoxville, Happy Valley, Columbus, Ann Arbor and College Station; win or lose …… those folks love their football teams and seldom do you see anything less than a full stadium.

Stoops enjoyed the benefit of an experienced and talented offensive line that executed both pass protection and run blocking over the last several seasons ….. this 2022 OL a is just not as good.

But all those programs win way more than they lose. If we only averaged a loss or two per year we probably would have decent crowds. The exception recently was UT, but they have such a long tradition they could weather a few down years. I guess Penn State is in that boat too.
