Can UofL handle # 1 ?

Mich beat Carolina and Iowa beat TT we are going to learn alot about this team in the coming weeks. Good or bad.

I think fans will be pleasantly surprised. The biggest factor in how a team handles hype/ success is maturity.. The #1 reason i believe ithis team will deliver this season is we don't need to rely on young guys . our starting 5 are sr, sr, Jr, Jr, freshman.with 2 more upperclassmen in our top 7. We are experienced. All the breakdowns at the end of close games are a thing of the past. Anyone can have success. Continued success requires experience and maturity. I'm sure some smart guy will reply with an example of a young team winning the title but that is the exception not the rule. Look at the last 5 champs. Virginia ( Jr's, srs) Nova ( Jr's srs) Nova " NCarolina all experienced teams.

With duke punking out at home, Cards should be number 1 going into their matchup with Michigan.

Coach Mack says the Cards havent earned their #2 ranking.

Will the team play up to its potential or get the big head ?

I'll take it a step further and say that Michigan should be #1 because of their wins so far. Their starting point is working against them.

To answer your question directly, I agree with Mack, they haven't earned it at all and I'm not sure what their potential really is. The lack of focus from last year seems to still be there, but that's probably the weak & uninspiring opponents so far. So I don't really know....but the #1 ranking is fun and probably good for recruiting, but otherwise doesn't mean much. But I think that Michigan should be #1 today, not Louisville.

I'm glad we just have 27 more hours to think about this. Go Cards!

I agree with the experience part. We actually start 3 seniors and 2 juniors. Whether that is our best 5 is yet to be determined.
