Commit Watch:
I'm putting 4-star DB Adonis Otey on commit watch. I asked him after camp what his plans were going forward and he said he's done camping after the 5-star challenge. I asked him "when are you committing," and he said, "soon, like this summer." So I followed by inquiring where he was going to take an official and he said "just here." I kind of looked at him sideways and he shook his head affirmatively as to say, "Seriously." I nodded and replied "dag, you're really feeling it here huh?" He responded "For real" with a nod.

Now I'm not saying he is going to pull the trigger today on the spot and announce. But I would have him on commit watch until further notice. I'll catch up with him on the 27th at the Five Star challenge and get an update on where things stand if he hasn't announced by then. I do feel comfortable to say that Louisville leads for the 12th ranked corner in the country.

Tennessee Prosects Shine:
I got to see what 2019 4-star WR Lance Wilhoite and 2019 3-star TE Cormontae Hamilton could do back in May at the Nashville Rivals camp where they took home MVP at their positions. Consistency is key when analyzing prospects and the two shined again. Wilhoite is a natural glider who gets in and out of his breaks with grace. He was chopping it up quite a bit with Lonnie Galloway and looked like he was having fun. I think Louisville has a legit shot with him. Hamilton is a stout 6-foot-2, 255-pounds and runs routes like a technician. He will be a dangerous flex TE and Bobby Petrino's offense if he decides to join the 'Cards.

Keveon Mullens camped with his buddies Wilhoite and Otey and looked a lot better on defense than he did as a receiver. Hey Keveon, if you're reading this sorry my man but like I told you tonight, go where the bread is and the bread looks like it's at linebacker or strong safety for you. I heard that South Carolina is telling him they will give him a look at WR so they may be the biggest threat here but Louisville tends to do well with Athletes so keep an eye on him.

Lance Wilhoite's uncle, 2018 3-star RB Lelan Wilhoite looked very explosive and caught the ball well. Yes, I said uncle. He is a year older than Lance and he is either his mom or his dad's brother so that makes him his uncle. Yes I said 2018, he hasn't signed anywhere so if Louisville offers and has room, he may be a take. But I'm not clear on what Louisville's intent would be here. Maybe an academic redshirt or something tricky like that. Anyway if he did come in as an ARS, he could be a good compliment to Aidan Robbins out of the backfield. He received praise from running backs coach Kolby Smith on numerous occasions.

Milton Wright impressed, as expected:
2019 four-star CAL receiver Milton Wright showed up and did his thing tonight. There isn't really much to say about him that fans don't already know. He's a legit 4-star with good upside, he's a hard body kid who runs with power. He's very good at stacking his routes and accelerating out of his breaks. He's not as fluid as Wilhoite but he's more powerful and and will win contested passes consistently. He is traveling to Alabama tomorrow for a visit and plans to camp there. I would say Alabama, Ohio State, and Purdue lead Louisville for Wright's services right now but there's a long way to go still and the fact he camped tonight is a very positive sign for the 'Cards.

Mike Summers got to coach up some massive dudes:
The camp split the lineman and skill position guys into to groups and I didn't catch the big man one on ones because they moved to the practice field. I did like a few guys I saw during the coaching segment however.

3-star OG Jaalon Gupton was a guy that really stood out to me as a big guy who moved well and looked technically sound and made all the right steps.

3-star DL Renato Brown is listed as an offensive lineman but the staff had him camp as a defensive lineman and he looked very quick and powerful. He's a guy and his impressive offer list (Bama, UGA, Penn State, Miami, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc) is well deserved.

Star Power:
2019 4-star Baton Rouge CB Jordan Clark camped and looked good as a potential nickel guy. He played outside in the 7v7 portion of the camp and was a lock down performer. In camp settings coaches will move guys around to see if they can play multiple spots and Clark checked that box. He's 5-foot-9, 168-pounds and looked fast, fluid, and patient. He had a pick against 4-star WR Lance Wilhoite. On the play he just stayed in his back pedal for four-Mississippi and waited for the QB to throw it and picked it off. He also defended Milton Wright well on a 15 yard comeback route where he was able to keep his feet live and drive the route. Clark was the best corner out there in my opinion. VanGorder often uses a nickel in his defense and Louisville needs one in this class.

2020 4-star Pickerton Central QB Demeatric Crenshaw was on hand and he looked good. He holds a Louisville offer as well as Kentucky, Indiana, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Toledo, and Cincinnati.

Local recruits of note:
2019 Waggener RB Brandon Jones and 2020 Ballard RB Markiece Warner looked good in drills and both guys look like action figures. Jones may not be an offer guy for Louisville but he is definitely a D1 guy and could find a home in the MAC. Markiece Warner is a prospect I can see Louisville offering if he has a good season this year for the Bruins. He ran a 4.37 on the watch at UK last weekend and weighed in at 5-foot-10, 203-pounds tonight.

Future Star:
2022 Overton (TN) ATH Isaiah Horton looked the part at 6-foot-2 and 170-pounds and ran some nice routes as receiver. He's definitely a guy to watch in the future.
