It appears that HB 168 is going to be signed into law by Governor Beshear. This would force Budweiser to sell of their distributorship business in Louisville. Budweiser has been a big supporter of UofL Athletics over the years. I believe their logo is one of the five or six that was on the original score board at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. They provide a lot of promotions outside the stadium (band stand and tent before you go under the Denny Crum overpass) and in game promotions and advertising. I assume that the vast majority of those promotions were setup and funded by the distributorship and not the parent company Anheuser Busch InBev corporate business.
It will be interesting to see what changes or impacts will come as a result of this. Hopefully UofL can build a relationship with the company or individual that purchases the distributorship from A-B InBev.
