to end the regular season. Glad we are playing well. Anyone remember a tougher stretch of games?

Sat. North Carolina
@Duke
@Virginia Tech (who just beat UVA)
Virginia
@North Carolina St (on Senior Night)

Go 2-3 to finish 10-8 in ACC and 20-11 overall and we are safely in. Anything else is gravy.

We should be 20-6 and safely in right now. FSU and Cuse could keep us out because of this 5 game stretch we’re about to have. Have to do good.

Saturday is a MUST WIN and will give us an idea about how we might fare over our last 5.

I think the last five regular season games we go 2-3. ACC tourney 2-1, NCAA tourney 1-1. For a final 2017-18 record of 23-13, at best.

I think we beat NC(if Deng is available without him we win none of these games),VT and Nc.St

I think we need to beat 2 more Top 25 teams to assure getting in. Anything less than that leaves us on the bubble, IMO. I don't know who the competition will be for the final few spots, but right now we have 1 good win in FSU, which beat us on the return match-up. That's our best win all year. If we do get left out, people will say "Who did they beat besides FSU, who did they beat OOC?"

We Should be 24-2 Minimum...Losses to CanSuckMe and Virginia...Unforced TO's, bad shots from three, and selfish play by several individuals have cost us the other six losses!!!

:cool:

No need to over complicate this. No pressure. It's 5 games. There needs to be just 2 wins. Just 2.

Looking more closely at the RPI/Quadrant stuff... It seems like we may be able to get in clean with wins over VT and NC State, assuming those potential wins stay in Q1. But Selection Sunday is still about a month away and a lot of other teams will be going up and down. It's hard to say what resume other Bubble teams will have and whether the Committee is looking to reward a 28-2 team from a mid-major who lost their Tourney.

The one thing about the tough schedule that’s remaining, is any 2 wins against that bunch should get us over the top. A win over any of the big names, Virginia, Duke or UNC will be rewarded and even if we lose all 3 of those, beating both Va Tech and NC State on the road would be a resume’ booster.

Although the last scenario would make fans sweat. A lot of the talking heads would likely be saying that the Cards had 3 chances at the end of the season to beat one of the marquee names in the ACC and failed.

It's so hard to say. Right now, the scenario of Louisville winning 2 more, against VT and NC State would seem like a lock. But it all depends on what other teams do at the same time. If either of those 2 teams nosedives that'd hurt us since they'd be 3 of our 4 best wins. If Florida State nosedives it hurts us.

Hopefully Louisville will win 3 of the 5. I think that puts us in without doubt. Anything less and we're sweating it out, though I really do think we'll find a way to make the field if we beat VT and NC State.
