Purdue was just blown out at home by Illinois putting up a whopping total of 6 points. I'm not going to play revisionist history here, he was my #1 choice even though I was very satisfied with the hire of Satterfield. It looks like we dodged a HUGE bullet.

Counting the destruction by Auburn in their bowl game they are 2-7 since Brohm turned us down and he signed that big contract.

I actually appreciate why Brohm stayed at Purdue. I think he ultimately did the right thing. He kept his word to his players and the University the gave him a Power 5 job. Too many coaches chase jobs instead of building programs. He just handled it poorly from a PR point of view.

I think Brohm is a good coach but his staff is OK.

I think Brohm caught lightening in a bottle and leveraged UL for a raise while he could, that's just business.

His true character showed when he turned his back on his Alma mater because he didn't have guts to help rebuild it, in fact, he tried to steal recruits when he was here interviewing, that's low rent at best. I for one am going to enjoy watching JB get his just deserts. We dodged a big shit sandwich when Brohm stayed in Purdue.

I say it's good riddance of bad rubbish. This program is in very capable hands now and the future is brighter than it ever has been.

I doubt we've heard the last of Brohm.
Although I'm in agreement that there are some things he should have done differently, I don't think he's built enough depth at Purdue to overcome the injury bug.
We should be careful of things that we wish for.

Brohm still has a chance to be very successful. Purdue should be patient. We, also, will need to be patient with our staff. This is a veteran team that loses significant pieces next year. We may struggle a bit until year 4 or 5. It takes time to recruit to a system and build quality depth. Jeff’s woes could very well be a preview of our own. We will see.

Now comes the time that Cards fans forget to look at Purdue results every week. Next year will be the true test for Jeff. He’ll have all his guys and will surely be healthy to start the season.

Brohm’s not building a program he’s digging his grave, write it down. He’ll walk away a rich man but Purdue will be his last head coaching job. He’ll be shown the door as soon as the Boiler brass determine they can afford the negotiated buyout.

Gimmick offense and a staff full of nepotistic hires. Big boy football runs the ball, Brohm’s playing “Bobby Ball”. That worked in the Big East and Conference USA, it doesn’t fly in the Big 10. Hell, Minnesota is a middle of the pack Big 10 school and their new coach has that program light years ahead of Purdue.

Moore being out definitely hurts, but agree that he was fool’s gold. Louisville got the better coach, no doubt.
