Bit by the "subtle" part of having a tougher schedule...

Program has come a long way. Players, like fans are plenty motivated for the higher profile games on a schedule. While those games are truly challenging for obvious reasons, today we get a lesson on how a game against a perceived lesser, but more than capable opponent can prove to be a big challenge too.

All summer fans talk about Auburn/FSU/Clemson...

Got to play the team in front of you. Come out without focus and the game becomes even harder to play between the ears.

Hoping these young players stick together and come around.

the old ul schedules only had 2 or 3 teams that could beat ul. you start getting 4 tough games and put some decent teams in between them and weird losses will happen. even though ul 0-2 they are still a solid D with a some youth on O that will get better.

I agree that the tougher schedule and playing a lot of young guys is a good reason why we are 0-2.

My disappointment is with how flat they came out for the home opener. I understand a slight letdown after playing Auburn but the coaches and our veteran players failed yesterday. Give Houston credit, they outplayed us but I honestly don't think our guys had enough respect for them. A huge lesson was hopefully learned.

I expect a great effort for 4 quarters Thursday Night and am hoping for great execution as well. We are going to need both to take down Clemson.

To say Louisville's past schedules consisted of only 3 games they could lose is a stretch. Last year they played about 7.

I'm not really looking to splitting hairs over the B East schedules but we typically caught a few ranked teams, a couple other fringe teams, and maybe one OOC game against a decent program.

I realize this is an opportune time to blast Louisville and say they always had it easy but again last year that was not a schedule with only 3 games we could lose, it just turned out we only lost 3.

My point is, the one thing previous schedules have lacked were big name CBS type of broadcast games like Auburn/FSU/Clemson. We now have legit trap games against some respectable 8 + win teams and then a few other middling 6 and 7 win teams that will take our best efforts to win.

Teams like Houston, NC St, BC, etc.... they are challenging and if/when we beat those teams we should probably appreciate those victories more because it ain't easy.

Would be surprised if you guys don't win Thursday! Hard to imagine an 0-3 Petrino team!

Not me! It's not the fans for sure! We need to stick with Bolin, he is more comfortable in the Offense, accurate and patient! JMO....

Are you guys short of experienced talent or have ya'll suffered a lot of early injuries it seems like U of L starts about 15 true freshmen or redshirt freshmen

Funny thing to me is that Bolin seems a lot like past qb's that Petrino won tons of games with! Drop back passer, really accurate. Don't get the dual threat infatuation Petrino seems to have as of late!

Dual threat QBs hide OL woes when plays break down.

"Supposedly" when CBP went to Atlanta over other NFL teams is that he was intrigued by the idea of using Michael Vick. When Vick wasn't there, CBP had no options. I'm told by a former Falcon that CBP had zero respect from the team because of he treated them like college players with his demands. So that didn't help either.

But at Arky and WKU, he ran his offense as he did here.

But suddenly it seems he wants to use us as a Guinea Pig to test his plans for a Michael Vick offense, when in reality it's been in his mind for some time now.

I just hope he settles on something that works. We're looking like a monkey effing a football right now.

After two Spring Practices, two Summer Camps, and 15 games.

He's an offensive genius with his pro style. The jury is out on his read option.

Not saying you guys would be 2-0 with Bolin getting all the snaps, but I believe you would have won yesterday, and don't think you would have fallen behind 17-0 against Auburn!
