Biggest shocker.

When Mitchell and co got in trouble and had to sit, I thought it was over. Levitch, Adel, Anas , doesn't make for a powerful line up. However, they got the job done. Props to them.
UL smacked UK in the mouth with their defense. Really got after them and forced a lot of tough shots by Cats. One of the more physical games I have watched this year. Thought it was one of the better officiated games I have watched as well. Both teams can take a lot from this game and build from it. Never like a loss, but have to give credit where it is due. UK made UL earn it and UL stepped up and never flinched. Great game to watch as a fan.

Congrats on the victory to all UL fans and hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a splendid new year.

UL is United Laboratories and UK is the United Kingdom. Just saying.;)

UofL and UofK played hard and it was a fun game to watch. I would say the same regardless of the outcome. This one lived up to the hype. All the UofL-UofK games should be this good.
I just figured you all would know who I was talking about. Your board though, so I will try and pick up my game if make any other posts. My sincerest apologies for being so callous.

No biggie. Just having a bit of fun. It's a message board. Be as callous as you want! :D

I think Kentucky's fight song is "On, On, UofK", though.
It is. That's why I call them UofK. That's who they are. University OF Kentucky. Not University Kentucky. KU is Kansas University. That's why they're KU. People calling UofK UK are incorrect.

To each their own. Not really a big deal.

It is the University of Kansas though. I now live 45 minutes from the campus in Lawrence.

Kentucky will always be UK to me.

Message boards have to love them.

Really? I've always thought they were Kansas University. LOL. Well, that proves we learn something new every single day if we try.

It's UK. Always has been. I doubt the fight song changes things. Could be wrong, but there's not many official "of"s. I remember hearing we were one of the only ones.

UT,UC,UNC,UF,OSU,UM,UCLA,...UofL

This is probably going to sound bad, but I enjoy saying UofK instead of UK. I know the Cat fans call their team UK, but just like they know we're UofL, some of them say UL for the same reason I say UofK.

Pure spite.

Understanding the "of" is special to us is more important than what Kratz thinks . :D They're jealous of it.;)

It's all good. I upset some people on the football board recently with my stance on some issues, so I fully expect a little payback. ;)

I am truly sorry for bringing on this discussion by typing UL instead of UofL. I really had no idea that it was an issue and I have always left the "of" out of both schools when referencing them simply because I am not much of a typist. I have no spite for UofL or their fans. I am a UK fan who was only offering congratulations and complimenting the Cards on their victory and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Life is to short to spite anyone over which team they are a fan of in my opinion. I don't post much on any board and mostly enjoy reading, but every now and then I will offer a congratulation (understand most here could care less how I feel or probably don't want a congratulatory message from any UK fan.lol) when I think it is warranted or earned.

Is it the University Kentucky?

Or is it the University of Kentucky?

When I was a kid, and my brother was going to uk, it was pronounced...U uh k.

As time has passed, it's changed to just uk. Can't say how long it's been, but it's a while. But grammatically there should be an "of" in it or they need to change name.

Don't sweat it. Hell, I was corrected on the same thing myself here a few years ago. I had never paid any attention to the distinction either. :p Thanks for the congratulations.

Biggest shocker and I'm partly kidding is that M. Mulder did not end up being that unexpected UK player that beat the Cards this year. Seriously he hit two big 3s. I was thinking in the back of my head Mulder is going to win what I like to call the Hawkins/Harrellson Award this year for unexpected key plays or big shots from out of nowhere in rivalry games against Louisville.

Can't lie. I thought the exact same thing. I kept thinking,'who will it be this year?' and then he hit the first one and the thoughts started creeping in. When the second one fell, 'Well here we go again'. LOL Never so happy to be wrong.

Gotta say I was having similar thoughts. However another thing I thought of after Monk hit his first three near the end of the game to bring Uk to within one was "here we go again." I mean how many times has a Uk player hit a huge, late game 3 pointer against us to either win the game or push it out of reach?

Luckily it simply wasn't enough this time and the good guys won. I swear Uk has had the "devil's luck" in this series so many times. I know none of them see or realize it judging from comments from their fans because all many of them focus on is Snider- who is a starter- having a big game like that was any more improbable than their bench warmers having the games of their life against UofL almost every time we play.

I thought it was going to be Willis. Was hoping to hold him scoreless.
He should have went to Purdue.

Uh it's uahkay. Or the cayuts. See it's not so hard.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

When saying it you can add the "of" if you like. Nothing is wrong with saying University Kentucky either though. BUT, you don't say or print UofCLA. It's UCLA.

Next time you see one wearing a shirt with UofK on it. Ruin it for them by letting them know it's really copying UofL. ;)

This is one reason why Pitino's point of emphasis is on team defense concepts.

Good defense is the result of hard work. It does not take talent to work hard. When a key player (s) that does offensive lifting is sidelined, a good defensive team can grind, and stay in the game.
