Benny says he’s a UK legend, but...

He is a legend, and will be treated as such.......as long as a BB player doesn't show up.

Benny will have to go for water. :p

He has the potential to be an outstanding professional; however, when he gets in the face of an NFL linebacker he’ll be nothing but a grease spot. Plus when he reacts to an NFL official the way he did a college official he’ll be sitting earning nothing during his suspension for being an idiot. But at least he won’t be in lessington any longer.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

The dude’s ego is off the charts. He’ll get humbled real quick in the NFL, if he makes a roster.

Actually, what I heard him say when asked how this "team" will be remembered he said "as legends". It was in a team context.

That said, the talking head doing the game said that Snell would not be the first kitty drafted, and that there could be more before Snell.

Not a ringing endorsement for what they claim as their best RB "ever".

Snell benefited from playing in a period of the weakest $EC East for three years any uk RB "ever".

I sort of remember the same thing being said about Lamar. He dont have an NFL arm, he wont be able to run like he has in HS College. 3800 rushing yards in 3 yrs in the SEC is tough to do.

Maybe they will make him a fake Heisman Trophy to display next to their fake 1950 National Champ Trophy.

i think he goes in the third round or so. He’s not got elite speed and he doesn’t catch many balls out of the backfield. He is smart and double tough. I’ll admit that he has a tough road ahead of him. I expect josh Allen to be a top 5 overall pick. He is a stud.

I’m not knocking him.

I think he will make a good living as a 3rd down back. Maybe a lot better than that IF someone like the Ravens get him.

Would that not be ironic......:p

I have a delusional Kayut fan that thinks 12 UK players will be drafted. While they have talent, they aren’t Alabama!
12 players
Josh Allen, Benny Snell, Bunchy Stallings, CJ Conrad, Jordan Jones, D West, Mike Edwards, D Baity, Lonnie Johnson, George Adjei.

This is 10, there are at least 2-3 more who could get looks just on size alone
Adrian Middleton, Chris Westry, maybe Dorian Baker

Life long Cards fan, but I root for all local players to do well in the pros. Let’s wish these young men good luck.

Seriously. Congratulate the Cats and move on. If you hate them that much (I get that, I feel this way about (@&$*#&)*!!&$ Pittsburgh *&)#*@&)$*&)*!& Steelers), then just don't acknowledge anything and keep your mouth shut. Otherwise you just look stupid when they have 10 wins and we have 2. They had a hell of a year, Snell is a helluva RB, and I hope to draft him in my keeper NFL league next year. So yeah, otherwise, I look forward them to regressing toward the mean in 2019 when their whole current team isn't there but Stupes is.

I don’t think he’s athletic enough for the NFL. Time will tell.

The games I saw he was good at hitting the hole hard, but he wasn’t shifty enough to make guys miss. He’s a hard runner for sure, just don’t think that’ll translate well in the NFL.

I actually think he's a sleeper in the draft and a Sunday player. I've thought so for a while.

I'll let it go at that.

Who is invited to the combine will tell the tale. Several might get drafted, others will sign as free agents.

I give Benny Snell his due; he ended up with the all-time UK rushing and TD record.
That is an impressive feat for a RB from a football program with a LONG history and some VERY good RBs. However...to put the greatness of Lamar Jackson in perspective...

Benny Snell ran for 3873 yards and 48 touchdowns in his UK football career, both program records.
Lamar Jackson ran for 4132 yards and 50 touchdowns in less total starts in his UofL football career ... as a QB... on 82 less attempts

LJ was awesome but why would you compare a RB with a QB? It’s apples and oranges. Like I said, LJ was awesome and he won the Heisman, but Why even bring him up for comparison? I get the satire in the first paragraph but still.

Pretty simple thought process to compare how many yards and TDs Lamar Jackson RUSHED (apples to apples) for compared to Benny Snell. It would also be a pretty simple thought process to extrapolate out the number of yards Lamar Jackson MIGHT have had with an equal number of rushing attempts. Also, there IS no satire in my first paragraph; Snell's accomplishments ARE very impressive.

How many yards did Snell run for out of the Wildcat position? That position is technically the QB position on those plays.

I have NO idea. LoL! Maybe the UK fan can come up with that number. I didn't put a lot of time into my research; I just saw the stats for the rushing stat comparison on Twitter and though it was interesting. I also saw at some point last year, the rushing stat comparison between Penn State's Saquon Barkley and Lamar Jackson:

Jackson had 4,132 yards for a 6.3 average and 50 rushing TDs.

Barkley had 3,843 yards for a 5.7 average and 43 TDs.

I give Benny his props - he is as hard nosed a runner as I have seen play this year. He combines that with the ability to "hesitate" a moment to let a hole develop. I'm not sure how he "ranks" as a backfield receiver and his next block will be his first. As an RB his biggest characteristic is his YAC. All in all, a very effective collegiate runner.

But the thing that is not there is foot speed. Lamar Jackson the pro is not anywhere near as "on field fast" as was Lamar Jackson the collegian. At the NFL level of play things go up more than just a notch. All JMO

Peace

LJ was better than Snell. No one is denying it. Is that what you needed to hear? It’s just weird to compare guys that play different positions.

Agree, this is such a weird discussion. But let's be honest - hate can cause irrational statements. I get it. I mean, you'll never get a positive statement out of me about the &@&^*&@^( Pittsburgh &@*&^*&^^&*^! Steelers.

He is a very hard runner, and if he doesn't learn how not to take direct hits, his NFL career will be a short one. The guys in the NFL are all monsters who are just as strong or stronger and they hit harder. The only way a young man of his size will survive is if he doesn't take on the direct hits.

Pretty sure no one “needed” to hear anything - particularly not any validation from you. The only thing weird is that you’re so put out by the premise of comparing the two players relative skill sets.

I agree. His running style could be very short lived in the NFL.

There is soooooo much more to it than that. I see Steelers angle, but having coached the game it’s still very much apples and oranges those two positions. IMO
LoL! Apples to oranges would have been a passing yards and TDs comparison. Nobody is trying to diminish Snell's accomplishments here; at least I'm not; I've been very kind in my words for Snell. But a UK fan taking offense at a UofL fan, on a UofL board, noting how favorably a UofL player's rushing stats compare, is an exercise in futility. Maybe fly that indignation on the UK board.

He really can't help it. He went and caught the LCDS with no known cure.

It's really kinda sad to be truthful.

If I misinterpreted your point then my bad. At any rate, I’m happy to be having a football discussion. It’s gonna be a long wait till September. Cheers
