Around the 5th inning or so a FSU player hit what looked like a safe double. Maybe the sun was getting to me, but I swore the pitcher threw 2-3 pitches to the next batter and then they tossed the ball to first and the runner on second was called out which also wiped out a hit on the scoreboard. Isn't the ball in play as soon at the pitcher throws it to the catcher and therefore you wouldn't be able to act on the missed base even if someone told you about it? I thought that was the same rule as once a ball is snapped in football you cannot review the previous play.
