Baseball cards seem to be stumbling a bit..

Cards lose 2 out of 3 to an average Virginia team. Finish up with Florida St and need to win at least 2 to keep from slipping from the national seed talk. I think they are still in good shape but need Bennett back healthy. Albanese didn’t last an inning.

Hard to tell what to make of the last 2. I think Miller will bounce back.He has some great movement on his pitches and seemed to be overthrowing it a bit,missing the zone. he's got such a live arm. That start to game 2 obviously demoralized the whole squad,and then to have what happened in the 1st inning yesterday with all the errors-doubly demoralizing on the heels of game 2.
I think you just throw those last 2 out,get some good practices in,improve and move on.

Coach Mac seemed to indicate the players are getting caught up in the standings, possible seeding, etc., and not the opponent in front of them. Losing 3/4 is not good. They need to get their heads straight.

We've been here before. I just hope the young men understand that they will only get to play for championships maybe once in a lifetime.

Cards really need to sweep FSU if possible, which is difficult to do against anyone. Cards are currently 19-8 while Georgia Tech is 17-10. GT is playing last place Pitt and if U of L and GT tie, GT has the head to head advantage by winning 2 out of 3.

FSU by virtue of a sweep over the Cards could win the Atlantic Division (won’t happen) so there is work to do. Go Cards!

There certainly was a lack of focus at UVA. But, I saw the same issues vs Vandy. They must earn every victory. They earned the Alabama A&M victories because they went out and hit the ball. Not b/c they just showed up. Start back up with a road win v. IU. They really need to be dialed in and get the win.

Vandy is a different animal than Virginia at least this year. Vandy showed the chinks in the armor and hurt the players egos. They thought since Virginia was sub .500 in the ACC all they had to do was show up, which worked against Alabama A&M. Big big difference. Cavaliers are still well coached.

As usual,I think we have a great group of kids. These guys are some of the most respectful young folks we'll ever come across. I have a feeling they got all the distracted play out of their way. Time to focus on the big prize and do whatever your particular role is on this team to get it.
