Thank you to the football Cards for saving the sports weekend. A complete effort capped off the wonderful Lamar celebration. Great job by the o line early in dominating the line play. Great job by Malik in throwing balls that his speedy receivers could run to. And hats off to the defense. Absolutely dominated one of the top running teams in the nation. The Lamar presentation was great. Well done all the way around!

It was a solid day. Cards played the best game I’ve seen in a good while. There were a lot of nice moments/tributes before and during game. LJ’s ceremony was top notch. Good energy from the fans. I had fun.

One of the most impressive performances on both sides of the football. Some may discount Syracuse, but the Orange have been most representative in every game this season winning and losing alike. When the Cards execute, remain focused on every down, and avoid missed assignments ……this is possible. The OL a is definitely improving and their pocket protection of Malik was the very best that I have seen this year.

This was well done by the whole program. They really did a nice job taking care of Lamar. He seems like a really good guy that happens to be a fabulous football player. His legend around here will only grow.

Football wise the most impressive thing is the kids bounced back after a tough loss in a big way. That says a lot about them and their trust in the staff. The next step is pulling out a close win.

I really hope they see next year as their opportunity to win the ACC. They need some key additions but the pieces are there.

It was an awesome day. . I agree everyone did a great job.
I do not know about retiring numbers but so fat the two that we have retired represent two of the most loyal football players in our history. Johnny Unitas continued to support the school even though he was the top quarterback in the NFL during his time. It appears that our Lamar is of that same type. He deserved the honor and it looks as though he will also be a blue chip supporter for years to come. My personal wish is that we could honor Chris Redman the same way. He could have played his football any where but he chose U of L and performed at the highest level during his time here. Just a personal view.

I don't disagree about Redman. He was probably the purest thrower of all the great UofL QB's. Chris' recruitment, however, was quite the journey. First he was all in with Louisville. Then Howard left. Chris was then all in with Illinois. Then they fired their OC and he was released from his LOC. Chris then wanted OU, where Howard was, but he later backed out. He then decided to play for Cooper and UofL. Chris is in the Ring of Honor, as you know.

It was a bit of a gamble but it sure seems to have paid off. Biggest win of the season, best performance of the season, with Lamar in the house - just an awesome day like the OP stated. I say it was a gamble because it would have really been a bad vibe if the Cards lost with a small crowd and Lamar making everyone pine for the days of yore - but that didn't happen and now the fanbase seems willing to give Satterfield a chance again.

The Cards are now getting Top 25 votes in the Coach's Poll. Win out and they may finish in the Top 25, setting them up nicely for 2022 with everyone a year older and Malik back to win some awards.

If we are able to get all these young guys 15 extra practices during bowl season, that will go a looooooong way heading into 2022.

Something to keep an eye on. There's speculation Cutcliffe is retiring after this season. Satt grew up going to Duke games. As much as I think he's not in love with city living, making that move from Louisville to Duke would be highly questionable. But, home is home.

If the Cards do win out and finish 8-5, Satterfield's name will get tossed around for some open positions I am sure.

His presser today seemed to represent he grew up around the stadium but didn't seem to think too much of Duke outside of that.
