Here is what I know from the barbeque:

There were a number of 2022 kids there who don't have offers but the notable names were Selah Brown, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and Popeye Williams. As we know, Selah was extended an "official offer" which he posted on Twitter. Friday, before the event I was told things were still fluid with Louisville and Brown. Here is why, Louisville has a lot of DL and a few walk-on d-linemen who deserve scholarships so the numbers have to be worked out. In my opinion, I believe that if he wanted to commit right now Louisville would take him and figure out the numbers later, hence the official offer edit being sent. Again, that's my take or opinion on the matter not me communicating anything from a source.

Here's a quick rundown on the 2022 kids who were in attendance:

McNeil-Warren is very interesting here because he's a new name and a three-star from Florida. He's also 6-2 and will fill a needed role at the FS position. As always, I am hesitant to list the offers that kids from S. Florida report but it appears his two latest offers came from FIU and Maryland. Louisville hasn't offered.

2022 prospect Malachi Williams is a 6-2, 220-pound OLB from Louisville Central. I haven't heard of him before this weekend but he has a nice frame and could be a kid to watch this year if he dominates for the Yellow Jackets, remember Covid hurt a lot of kids last year so I wouldn't be surprised to see some seniors emerge as P5 prospects. I'll be sure to check him out this season and report back.

Jack Tippman is a 2022 TE from Fort Wayne Indiana. Lousiville missed on all their tight end targets and I don't expect them to use a scholarship on Tippman but he could be a preferred walk-on target down the line.

Jeremy Hamilton is a 6-1, 175-pound safety from Scott County (KY). He's listed as a running back but Louisville likes him as a safety. He currently holds no offers and will need a strong senior year to break into the scholarship market.

Brady Clark is a 6-4 2022 QB from Bardstown (KY). Louisville has its QB for this class so I would imagine they like Clark as a PWO.

These were the only notable 2022 prospects that I saw.

It appears the emphasis of this event was on in-state 2023 kids but a few really nice looking 2023 prospects were on hand and picked up offers to boot. Overall, there was a strong group of '23 prospects in attendance.

To me, the biggest 2023 names were Jordan Curch (FL)Micah Carter, William "Woo" Spencer, Jeremiah Monroe, Kaden Moorman, Saadiq Clements, Jaden Yates (OH), Brendan Black (FL), Takye Heath (VA), and Cooper Fordham (FL).

Black and Fordham are Florida offensive linemen. Fordham attends Bolles in Jacksonville and Black attends Yulee High, which is Derrick henry's alma mater. Lousiville was out in front with early offers to both of these young men and they've already visited so the cards are off to a solid start.

Staying with the 2023 Florida push, Jordan Church is a 6-4, 310-pound o-line prospect who picked up on offer during the visit. He reports offers from FAMU and FSU. He told me that the coaches treated him well and that he enjoyed everything about the visit. I'm sure he most enjoyed the fact he was offered a scholarship.

2023 LB prospect Jaden Yates made the trip to Louisville from Ohio and reportedly had a good time despite not picking up an offer. He currently holds offers from Kentucky and Marshall. He's going to have to have a big senior season to crack the P5 level and I don't think he's a take at Kentucky.

I was told things went well with the in-state visitors especially Clements, Monroe, Spencer. Saadiq Clements received an offer on July 30th so that would indicate he had a good visit and the coaching staff was impressed with him. I still have Spencer going to Kentucky but I could also see him becoming a national recruit who ends up going out of state. That being said, Spencer projects as a guard at the next level, and from what I'm hearing Kentucky feels like the best fit. There is still a long way to go however and getting him on campus is a good start if the Cards want to fight off the competition and keep him home.

Micah Carter the coveted DE from St. Xavier didn't show up for the BBQ but he did make an unofficial visit earlier in the week. This was good for Lousiville because they were able to give him more individualized focus. Carter is going to be a national recruit but I've heard that he wants to stay close to home so Lousiville has a good shot here if they can continue to make him a priority.

Jeremiah Monroe is a 2023 Male prospect who has enjoyed a nice rise in his stock recently with offers from Toledo and West Virginia but Lousiville beat both schools to the punch in June and having him on campus is a great start. He plays defensive back and Lousiville needs help there so they should be major players going forward.

Another in-state kid who made it was 2023 Franklin County RB Kaden Moorman who told me this about the visit:

"I loved the visit, I loved the unis, the food trucks, the games, the coaches, felt like a place I could possibly call home."

Moorman holds offers from Kentucky, Toledo, and Wisconsin. Lousiville did not offer.

There were also some standout 2024 and 2025 prospects in attendance such as 2024 QB Demond Williams and 2025 QB Jamar Malone. Both kids are from Arizona and both received offers. Also 2024 S prospect JT Haskins visited. The Lexington native has an offer from Lousiville.

I'll follow up with any new information I obtain in the thread but for now it seems that the BBQ was a success with the local 2023 prospects and it looks like the staff will be making a bigger push to keep the locals local.
