Train stuck on the siding at Corman's Crossing in Bardstown!! Family Obligations kept the Train on the siding instead of heading up thru the Shenandoah Valley to UVA.. No problem, the Siding is hooked to a 60" Big Screen, and plenty of Bud Light in the Frig, and Evan Williams on the bar!!
Cards have certainly been somewhat of a disappointment so far this season. Many thought including myself we would be competitive with the Tide. The Train made the trip to Orlando. Had a chance to interact with some players, Coaches, and our new AD! Needless to say not what many expected of the Cards in our opener! Of course as the season has moved into the Second Quarter of the year we have learned IMO no one will challenge Alabama for the Top Price in College Football this year. Saw very quickly up front , and in person Tua has taken them to another level! That said what does this say about the Cards??
Lackluster games against ISU, and WKU have caused many to have questions about this Cards Team, this year, and our future under this current Coaching Regime! Then we have had injuries that have taken our two best defensive players off the field ( Grenard, Ethridge) replaced them with Freshmen, for now! Starting QB dealing with Turf Toe, and our best WR not looking himself, after a surgery 3 weeks before the opening of the season! Still we managed to win games we should have won by a bunch, but we struggled. We did not get upset, like several teams have in early season! We stand right now where many thought we would be moving into the 2nd quarter of the season 2-1. It's now Go Time for this Team! The next two games will determine how we finish, and where this program is!!
This brings us to our match up tomorrow at UVA. On paper these teams appear to be evenly matched according to the computers. Past history suggests this game will be a one possesion game that will be decided by a TO!! However Recruiting rankings, Pre season players evaluations, would indicate that the Cards have a significant edge!!
Then you bring to the table on which team is going to be motivated?? If you are a Card team player your looking at going on the road, playing a team that is average at best, and you are about a TD dog! If you are not motivated by that as a player, and a staff do not know what will get you juiced?? My guess that every player, and Coach on this UL team has been challenged about their Man Hood, and Football Acumen on this game!! If they are not we have serious issues with the players we have recruited, and the staff Coaching them. No excuses tomorrow, not saying we must win, but we must play hard, tackle hard, run hard , be tough!! Show who you are, and what Cardinal Football is all about!!
All that said any road game is tough! I look for the Cards to run hard, gain about 200 yards! Also expect to keep UVA at about 150 yards. rushing! Whoever wins the rushing battle will win the game. In somewhat of a low scoring affair give me Cards 31 UVA 24! Side bar our defense is better then last year, and we held this UVA down last year!! So expect a solid performance and a hard fought win!! Go Cards!! All Aboard!! All Aboard!!
Guardman wish we were joining your crew at UVA. We made the last trip. Our plans our to make Clemson, and BC so maybe we can meet at those games! Pull the Cards Home!! All Aboard !! All Aboard!!
