With 5 teams ranked in the Top 25 is a good start to help the conference gain Perception across the country. The SEC has 6, ACC 5, Big 10 has 4.

I think there two or three more who could surprise. Louisville, FSU, BC with their QB at full strength could make it a banner year for the conference.

Hopefully, this will bring ESPN back to the table to renegotiate more money for the ACC.
You would think with Comcast now carrying our network ESPN wants more content for the network. Since they are 50/50 partners. Not to mention no longer carrying BIG10 games anymore.

This recent talk about how the ACC could become “the third man out” in conference realignment has little if any real foundation, beyond media speculation .The geographical unity of the ACC should not be minimized; West Coast alliances with BIG10 may appear attractive at first blush, but those travel distances and time zones differences will pose problems for both the schools and their fans over time. WVU joining the BIG12 serves as a small but a relevant example of how an alliance like that can adversely affect the school’s fan support and recruiting base. WVU Administration have been most vocal about wanting in the ACC, and there are indications that Rutgers and Maryland have hinted the same.

Morgantown Card, what, if anything, do you hear from W.Va. fans about conference realignment? Are they interested in coming to the ACC?

I went to Maryland and I still have a lot of friends there. Whenever I talk to them during football and basketball season they are disappointed they left the ACC. It seems all these teams that leave their geographical region lose their recruiting base and never do as well as they once did.

Not Morgantown Card, but I have a lot of good friends and associates in Fairmont WV who are huge and longtime Mountaineer fans. I talk with themy often, and they are quick to express their disappointment over ending the intense and popular rival games with Pitt, VT and Maryland. The Miami game was gaining interest before the conference changes ended the series.
