The #10 thru #15 seeded teams kicked off the first day of the ACC WBB Tournament play in the Greensboro Coliseum Wednesday.

In the opener, #13 seed Clemson got a huge performance from Delicia Washington (33 points) and sent #12 seed Syracuse home with a 88-69 win. In the Orange vs Orange battle, Clemson won the fourth quarter 30-18 to advance to Thursday action against #5 seed Virginia Tech today at 11 a.m.

#10 seed Duke won a close one over #15 seed Pitt 55-52 in the second contest yesterday. Duke trailed by one going into the final quarter, but got a big effort out of freshman Shayeann Day-Wilson (22 points) to get the win and advance to Thursday action against #7 seed Miami today at 6 p.m. . Elizabeth Balogun had eight points for the Blue Devils.

The nightcap featured #11 seed Wake Forest against #14 seed Virginia. Jewel Spear led credence to the phrase "Fear the Spear" with 23 points for the Demon Deacons. Virginia held a three-point lead going into the final quarter but Wake Forest held the Cavaliers to just eight points in the final 10 minutes. Wake advances to play #6 seed Georgia Tech tonight at 8 p.m.

The fourth game of today's schedule puts #8 Boston College against #9 FSU in the 2 p.m. game.

Coverage is on Bally Sports South (Channel 70 on Spectrum).

It's good to see that Bally is at least using some of the ACC Network announcers for their broadcasts. Personally, I love Debbie Antonelli's analysis of any game and she was on the final two broadcasts yesterday. I'd expect she gets a couple more dealt to her today.

Louisville WBB starts their Tournament run Friday when they face the winner of the Duke vs. Miami game today. The Cards tip off at 6 p.m. Friday.
