ACC revenue for 2021-22 season

It might not seem fair but thankfully we are in the ACC and not the AAC.
Totally agree. Some of our fans have forgotten that just a very short few years ago we were literally begging to be "included" in the so called big time by being elevated to a top 5/6 conference. And now that we are there are those that still aren't satisfied. Sheesh, let's get a life - UofL athletics are in fine condition and will get better so long as you and I as fans continue to buy tickets and attend events. Pretty damn simple. Those at other schools already know this so why do UofL fans seem to have a difficult time with this? Perhaps ignorance IS bliss.

The fear I have is that we have stopped improving ourselves. We’re backsliding. You have to improve yourself on an ongoing basis just to stay where you are.

In the long term, languishing and mediocre programs will decline. The big fish will make sure of that…

Lord knows I’m no fan of KP, I’ve made that painfully clear. But, we just put together one of our best recruiting classes ever and Jeff Brohm has the football side rocking. I just can’t call that backsliding.

For starters, “backsliding” is an overall assessment. Everything won’t be declining at the same time. Granted, football and men’s basketball take priority.

Also one year—your examples—is too short a time frame. How do all of these programs look over five years?

I’m not sure ANY programs are better than they were in 2017. At best, they’re unchanged.

And coincident with that, our finances are abysmal.

In a nutshell, that’s backsliding. And bad timing if we’re being evaluated from the outside…

We’ve backslid so much over the past five years that one good year sure feels a lot better than where we’ve been. I’m extremely confident about CJB and our FB program. KP did as well as could been expected in rebuilding the roster that now he can no longer use talent as an excuse. If we fail, it’s on him and him alone.

In my view, the backsliding in FB and MBB has at the very least hit the pause button and fans are starting to hope again….even though some, like me, remain skeptical.

Skepticism is NOT my best suit. I prefer to be positive even in the face of difficult times - not that we are in difficult times. My opinion only.
