First game in a tourney equals jitters when you are the higher seed. Expect to see a more relaxed team and fluid play today.

Kudos to Coach Walz to not show any panic. Yesterday’s game was a great learning experience for all of our players, including Dana when she reentered the game in the 4th quarter. You can tell she is a true leader as she returned to facilitate her teammates and did not try to dominate the game to overcome her slow start.

Ramani Parker is going to be a great player as soon as she adds some muscle to her frame. You can’t help but like her effort and enthusiasm.

Also very impressed with A. Smith. Began the season as a starter, but never pouted when she started coming off the bench. She was big for us yesterday. You can say the same for Nikki K. She gives 100% when she enters the game. Also remember because of her language barrier and her injury last year, her development is that of a freshman player.

Finally I love Kasa. She represents the ultimate team player. Not only does she play with aggression and spunk, she is consistently in her teammates’ ears pumping them up and giving solid vibes.

Looking forward to today’s game. Q will have the Cuse ready and is a good bench coach. However I believe the Cards will come out relaxed and eager to show the world they are tournament ready.

I think the whole game plan for WF yesterday was to take Dana out of her game by being physical on her and the refs helped them to facilitate the game plan. HVL got hot and their plan eroded at the end. Syracuse might try the same thing and hopefully HVL will be on again. It would really be great if Dana, HVL and Kianna were all on target today.

Kasa is one of my favorite players of all time. She just has no quit.
