6-2 PG Darius Perry Commits To Cards

On Tuesday, Pitino added some backcourt punch with the commitment of Powder Springs, Ga., point guard Darius Perry, a 6-2, 160-pounder who visited Louisville on August 3. He’s a consensus four-star prospect.

Louisville coaches made Perry a priority after seeing him play in early June.

“Louisville has always been a school, I wouldn’t say dream school, but always been school that I’ve considered going to since before they were even recruiting me. It was really neck-and-neck between them and Georgia.”

The kid is a welcome addition to the Cardinals family as long as he sees it thru, and actually signs. From his words though, I would count him as a soft verbal. I'm not counting him as part of the L1C4 movement until he actually signs, enrolls in classes, and steps foot on the floor wearing a Cardinals uniform.

Supposedly is a very good on-ball defender. Defensive pressure at the guard position has worked quite well for us.

Nice to see smear campaign not working. Recruiting is in great shape. Already 2 great gets to fill 4 spots (if I recall correctly we are only taking 4 in 2017). The staff can now really focus in on a handful of players for the final 2 spots.
