The bi games for UofL women's sports continues today, when the Stick Girls bring in #2 Iowa for a 2 p.m. match in Trager.

This one is available on ACCNX if you can't make it out to watch live.

UofL leads the lifetime series against the Hawkeyes 8-4 - the Cardinals have won the last five meetings. The last time they faced (on October 20, 2019) - Louisville won 3-2 in OT at Trager Stadium.

# 2 Iowa brings a 7-0 record into the match. They recently knocked off IU in Bloomington 3-0.

Iowa has outscored their opponent 36-4 in the first seven games of the season.

Iowa also took down then-No. 1 North Carolina 3-1 in the first weekend of the season. Other common opponents include New Hampshire, which Iowa beat 3-0. The Hawkeyes opened the season with a 5-3 win against Wake Forest.

It should be a good one today on Floyd Street. Admission is free to ALL UofL Field Hockey games and concessions are available, plus their is a McDonald's next door.

I was watching but it got delayed because of weather, was it called? Our team wasn’t playing that well to be honest we only had 2 attempts on the goal. We spent most of the time on defense. The delay might help us regroup.

I went out today - first in-person field hockey event. I agree Koz; Iowa was taking away our passes consistently; very little offense being generated, etc. Still, was fun being there.

I give the girls credit they do a lot of running and the length of the stick they have to run bent over. I wonder if it would be legal if you made the stick a little longer. I also wonder if you did that if it would make it easier or harder to make your shot. Someone should experiment with it, be an innovator.
