2nd Year Coaches in FBS

Not hard to look back at the season and see how close JB has us to crashing the playoff in just 2 seasons. The Stanford game is an outlier in my opinion. If you throw that one out,we're half a dozen plays from being in the conversation about the playoff.

Tbs, there's one major hurdle left in front of JB this season before him and Heird have to figure out how to keep the young stars on this team together, build on it and make a serious run next season.

He's done fairly well I'd say,and along the way he's energized the fanbase. We need this next big hurdle as a Program, then we think about building for the run.

he's coaching for his job saturday no matter how many past wins. lose that and no reason to wait for year three
This is silly. We are in no position to be paying yet another guy for NOT coaching, in addition to paying up for a new staff. Brohm has had two winning seasons. I believe he will beat UK this year, but even if he doesn’t he should not and will not be fired. His DC maybe, but he won’t.

Exactly Guardman. With todays revolving door of players, it's going to be extremely changeling to build a consistent program that will remain at the top. That is unless you are already an established "blueblood" in the college atmosphere. While I think we shot ourselves in the foot in several very winnable games, I think Jeff is doing a good job. I hate they way things have changed in college sports but is what we have.

In the olden days of just 5 years ago, a coach could depend on his 4th and 5th year players to help set the standards and give guidance to the newer, younger players. No longer does a coach have such luxury. The coach and his staff are on an island. Little help from established players who have come up in his culture. All on the coaches.

Hopefully (there’s that word again) the little used upper class men and local walkons who REALLY want to be at UofL can provide some cultural leadership.

Hopefully

I have so many people on ignore a lot of threads make no sense. But it sounds like some are want CJB gone. 🤣

Brohm will figure it out I believe.

He built his resume by beating people he shouldn’t. That worked at WKU and bottom feeder Purdue. People saw the upsets but paid little attention to the losses.

Now, the “losses” are noticed. He is as high as he’ll go in the coaching ranks until he wins the ones he should while beating some he shouldn’t.

He has to perform.

WE threatened a coup if we didn’t get Brohm. We got him. And we’ll have him for a good while.

It’s a tough time in coaching with the portal and NIL.

A lot of “good” coaches will not look as good as they used to.
