Louisville football has had a hot summer on the recruiting trail, with the Cardinals putting together a 2023 class that ranks among the top 20 in the country on 247Sports' national leaderboard.
On Monday, that momentum carried over into the Class of 2024. Coach Scott Satterfield and company scored a commitment from Isaac Brown, one of the top 10 running back prospects in the country suiting up for his junior season this fall at Homestead High School in South Florida.
Checking in at 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 180 pounds, Brown is the first recruit to commit to U of L's 2024 class and did so after visiting campus over the weekend. The Cardinals hosted dozens of players, including top 2023 pledges Pierce Clarkson and Rueben Owens Jr., for an event they called the 502BBQ.
After just two years at the high school level, Brown holds reported scholarship offers from more than a dozen Division I programs, including the likes of Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M. Across nine games as a sophomore, the four-star prospect ran for 708 yards and five touchdowns on 45 attempts and caught 22 passes for 407 yards and two scores, according to MaxPreps.com.
Brown also offers Louisville a penchant for making electric plays on kickoff and punt returns. MaxPreps reports the running back averaged 58.2 yards per kickoff return and 42.7 yards per punt return last season. He returned four of the 10 kickoffs he received for touchdowns and took three of the nine punts he fielded to the house.
In total, Brown amassed 2,081 total yards during the 2021 season. He's a legitimate all-purpose back who has plenty of time to continue developing the skills that caught the attention of Satterfield and other coaches from around the
country.
Brown is the No. 7 overall running back recruit and 150th overall talent on 247Sports' composite rankings of the 2024 class. He comes in at 11th on the recruiting database's all-time rankings of Louisville football commits.
