11/3/22 Exhibition Game #2- Louisville vs Chaminade -7PM

Cards are so soft it's truly remarkable. This program has never been good with loose balls and deflected rebounds, but this team is by far the worst there's ever been.

The lack of conditioning is noticeable. Just mind-blowing. So far just an all systems failure starting with the head coach.

Saw improvement from Traynor and Lands. Ellis, Withers and Curry are the top 3 players.

James looks like a good one.

Huntley Hatfield and Wheeler haven't shown much of anything. Ree, Miller and Basili hardly or didn't play.

Got to find a adequate back up to Ellis.

I'm afraid Bellarmine is going to make us look silly.

we won! we look a lot better than last game, especially the passing.
have to work on rebounding and we struggled when we were pressed. Ellis will have to play a ton of minutes.

Glad they won but it doesn't sound like they played much better.

Soft-Soft-Soft I am not sure this is fixable. No guards outside of Ellis. The bigs are unbelievably soft.

The other thing is they can guard either.

We will see but boy this is rough.

Oh, it was much better than last game. However, if KP doesn't find an adequate guard to back up Ellis, we'll have another losing season for sure.

What I've seen in these two games is a group of players that look like they're not sure how to play together with confidence. Withers and Ellis are not lacking confidence and are clearly the two best players. Curry is right there with them.

But the rest of the team looks like a bunch of guys trying to make the cut. Traynor will never be that strong but he did a good job with offensive rebounding tonight. Lands and James have potential but we just have to wait and hope one or both break out and become strong freshmen.

Being optimistic I'm thinking 16 and 14, but it's probably going to be more like 14 and 16.

let's revisit this thread mid february to see where the improvement is and whether it's just bad players or lack of confidence in a system. have to remember all the kids who returned have gone thru a tons of crap, multiple coaches, systems and styles. i'm sure all are confused and have no consistency to feel confident. baby steps jsut like the football team. better competition for sure will be us but maybe KP gives a system they can thrive in, hopefully that's what he was hired to do. but i figure won't be until end of january to real changes bearing fruit

This is where I'm at. Early returns are not good - at all - but I'm willing to let the cake bake and see how the season plays out.

Well I'm glad we didn't lose again to a Division II team at home this is the same team that lost by 40 points to Ohio State I'm afraid if we win five games this year it's going to be good Kenny Payne should have did better on the recruiting Trail before this year started hopefully no more excuses for him moving forward now that we are no longer have the NCAA suspension over our heads want to see a top 20 class next year not three star players like we got so far

I thought conditioning was a priority. Its going to be very ugly if theyre not in peak shape.
Yeah I've read more than once how this team said they've never done so much running in their life and that cardio/conditioning was a priority. So it's disappointing to hear that they appear so out of shape.

busy week ahead

Wednesday: Bellarmine. late game at 9pm Eastern.
Saturday against Wright State at 1 pm.
then Appalachian State on Tuesday.
