At this rate unless Mack decides to take his lumps with either Curry or Rose. Jaylen might have to go back to the 5 spot .Malik doesn’t need to be starting either.
Not so fast my friend. He’s the only one busting his butt. Sam is rebounding but can’t hold on to the ball…I bet when Mavk returns Davis gets booted from the starting lineup. Don't understand why Cross or Sam is not .
I recommend AA meetings daily and especially during a BB game. 😁Unless this team does a complete 360 this season . Don't expect a NCAA tourney. SMH i cant take this anymore . I ve turned into a drunk
I’ll drink to that!I recommend AA meetings daily and especially during a BB game. 😁
My initial perspective from what I’ve seen so far. We are not unlike UK’s teams in the past when they brought in entirely a new team each year. They have to gel quickly. But here’s the difference, we’re suppose to be running a quicker moving offense. Well, that is a disadvantage to our returning players like Malik, Withers and Sam. But we’re staying with the pack line defense or some version of it, which I think takes more than just a season to learn and perfect, so that’s a disadvantage to our transfers and freshmen. We are going to have to be patient and hopefully by tournament time or sooner, we adapt and play more consistently. I’m sure Mack has been sending his input to Pegues.Really disappointed.
Outside of West, we have not nearly enough energy and hustle on defense. We had a bunch of fouls because of lazy defense - not moving to get into position, not defending the screen well.
If Davis or Withers take another three I’m gonna cry. And we heard all the talk about how Withers was gonna be the stud on the team. Unfortunately he needs to realize that offensive production or lack thereof should not dictate effort on defense and rebounding.
The difference is UK's teams in the past were reloading with 5 star players that were making a pit stop before the NBA Draft, at times getting the overall #1 pick even. UofL is reloading with much less talent. We are not unlike UK’s teams in the past when they brought in entirely a new team each year. They have to gel quickly. Been trying to talk you off the ledge will try again.Really disappointed.
Finished off a bottle Woodford this evenings game and got afresh one for the BahamasWell we could do a Red & Black AA meet up and either encourage each other not to drink or just take a drink each time Red does? I believe he prefers the hard stuff. 🥃
Yelp we always have scratch and dent players to work with, Hardly ever a brand new flawless top of the line appliance. It's like we can afford a brand new Benz but we always get sold a CPO with issues. And it always seems our best returning guys that we really count on hardly ever take it to the next step. The difference is UK's teams in the past were reloading with 5 star players that were making a pit stop before the NBA Draft, at times getting the overall #1 pick even. Right but there shouldn’t be any issue regarding egos except no one is stepping up to be the leader. To me it needs to be Sam but he is struggling with his own identity. Malik is a captain but unfortunately he’s just a shell of what he was. So Locke, West, Ellis are all wanting to be the man when they should be figuring out the best way to complement each other. Faulkner seems to be left out but he always is looking to find his teammates. He didn’t get much PT tonight. The difference is UK's teams in the past were reloading with 5 star players that were making a pit stop before the NBA Draft, at times getting the overall #1 pick even. I think it’s that I know what’s coming down the pike the next few years and think that this is the last opportunity to sniff the tourney for some time.Been trying to talk you off the ledge will try again.
This team was stitched together, the HC is suspended for a very important early season batch of games.
There is no top shelf talent to be found.
You should not be expecting too much from this group, especially right now.
After everything Louisville fan has been through over the years, this team shouldn't generate too much emotion. Maybe you are just broken?
We lost to Furman and struggled with Detroit Mercy. Better is the the only thing that can happen. No real point guard? Come again. West is purely a point guard and he doesn't chuck up 3 pointers the first 10 seconds of the possession. Faulkner looks to pass first and Ellis can create with his driving ability.
Point guard is not the problem. It's the deepest position. The issue I see is no chemistry and a lack of discipline and basketball IQ.
The new offense of playing fast has the guys all shooting with a green light and that has to be regulated a bit with smarter decisions. Dre Davis should not be taking six 3 pointers.
The Cards have had many struggles against lower level teams early in the season for decades. We have won ugly dozens of times and every once in awhile have a upset loss. This season was a definite with so many new players and Coach Mack missing the 6 games.
The front court is the weakest link unless Perry and/or Wheeler make big strides and both have shown potential. Malik is well, Malik. You don't know if he's going to do something awesome or awkward on every possession.
It's nothing new the team not having a star player. Nwora I guess was the last one but even the Pitino years there wasn't many all Americans on the team.
Once Mack gets back he will find the rotation and he will make adjustments during the game. He will clean up the bad shots and the reckless turnovers. I also believe we will see a better performance when the Cards play a big name school.
I've seen doom and gloom rosters before and this one is not one of them. There's so much depth the practices during the season will bring out the best in most of these players.
Have faith, it's going to get better a lot quicker than you think.
