10/30 shots for Adel and Hicks

We have 5 seven foot tall players and we didnt try to establish them at all.

Establish our bigs for 10 of those shots and we win this game.

That is squarely on the shoulders of Hall of fame Ricky.

His criptic rotations. Over playing players. Mango playing more than 15 minutes, VJ not getting a sniff in the second half.

He stunk it up coaching and today's loss is squarely on Ricks shoulders.


We need to find a way to introduce 5 seven foot tall players to Rick and have him ride them to open up the offense.

It is sickening that we do not take advantage of our advantages.

If he decides to use his players correctly we will win a national championship.

We are 0-4 when Mango plays more than 15 minutes.

I really dont underatand that either. You would think ricky would draw up an offensive set and establish the defensive sets afterwards, but no.

He looked lost and frustrated by the phantom calls by Tv Teddy Valentine.

Hopefully we turn this around and play better next game.

Is it just me or does Teddy Valentine hate the Cardinals? When I see he is calling our game I know it's going to be a long day.

Would have lost by 15 without Mangok. Idc what anyone says. He was the strongest in the paint for our defense. Mahmoud played bad because he lacks strength. Plain and simple.

And Im pretty sure were had like 40+ points in the paint.

We missed 17 layups though. Hicks may have had 16, but he was 3/11 for layups. Shot the ball way more than the kickout. He could have dished it to mathiang when we were down 3 but instead he shot the contested layup. Could have brought us to 1 inside the minute left.

Agree with the first paragraph. Giving Hicks somewhat of a pass here though because of the lack of minutes and confidence that CRP has given him so far. Mitchell wasn't doing anything and Adel couldn't hit the ocean. Can't fault him for trying to make a difference.

Mangok had 13 pts and 13 Rebs today. Crowd favorite Mahmoud 0 pts and 4 fouls. He is simply too weak to play when guys like OJO are on the floor.

If we'd fed the bigs, the 10 - 30 would've been our free throws. Then we would've lost by double digits.

We need to find something to go to when the mid court weave and roll is not working.

Our bigs are allergic to dunking but i still believe we would have had better than 10/30 shooting.

We need to learn from this win and build on what we want our identity to be offensively.

Good points, but we cant ride him for extended minutes. The missed dunks and dropped passes hurt.
Pitino needs to look at hus roster and either use them or send them packing so he can have a full roster of players he will play.

Is it just me or does Teddy Valentine hate the Cardinals? When I see he is calling our game I know it's going to be a long day.

They call him TV Teddy for a reason.

We lost because our coaches refuse to use our bigs in the paint. He uses our bigs to set midcourt picks to hack up contested 3 point shots.

TV teddy is one thing. A coach who refuses to use his advantages is another.

We took 13 threes today out of 65 shots - 20% - that's not in any way too high a percentage. AND, that's including McMahon's 1/2 courter as the 1st half was ending and a couple of desperation shots at the very end - so more like 9 threes for the game.

Between Hicks who has not played amd Adel that played too many minutes and was gassed.

You do know that he's played more than 15 minutes in all 16 wins - right? Well, he played 14 against dook but I guess that's offset by the fact that he only played 13 minutes in the loss to ND.

If that is reversed do you think we win or no?

I say we win simply because when a big takes a shot we are in position to rebound. When the guards go rougue we have no idea of the shot and its a fast break for the other team.

I will also add kind sir that i wish ricky p made them run until they puke for the 1 foot floater.

No they were not in foul trouble, as said previously, they were completely ineffective. If Pitino did not want to play them, he never would've put them in the first place. When you're entered into the game, if you're not effective, you're coming out. That's pretty well an accepted rule of thumb for every coach living.

For the last time - as you've been told by several posters - mathiang played 33 minutes because he was clearly the most effective (he's a double-double machine - lol) and out of sheer necessity due to AM's foul trouble and MS being overwhelmed.
