I'm actually in agreement with this. In the tournament, there always comes a time when you need a couple of experienced guys to settle a team down, maybe get you a couple of buckets or get to the stripe when things are going south, etc. In today's Duke game, Amile Jefferson tried his best to be that guy but he was trying to go it alone.

You need a glue guy, and the glue guy is never a freshman. UK doesn't win the 2012 title without Darius Miller, who was the most unheralded guy to get minutes that year. A good mix of talent and experience is what wins in March. You definitely need to have some NBA talent on your team - 2 guys minimum - but they can't all be kids. You need some men to win a title.

That's not to say that I didn't hate the loss. I hate losing to you guys and pitino. It's just that that game doesn't matter anymore. If uk had won, it still wouldn't matter at this point.

I actually kind of feel sorry for you if that's the place you're going for consolation.

Both styles have their drawbacks. For every team of one and done failures, there are 60+ failures by veteran teams.
That's mainly because there aren't very many one and done style teams.
I actually think Kansas has the right mixture this year. It's their tournament to lose at this point.

It may be another thread for another time, but Zipp we have to discuss the argument that the sec doesn't prepare Kentucky for the tournament. I think there is a new variable that hasn't been brought up in the argument.

Not a fair assessement that team never got to field a fully healthy trio . Tatum lived up to the hype and the Frank kid should have started from day 1 which stumped his trajectory. Once he got in Ducke played better. I will still take that talent all day and nite over regular players. To each is own!
