Arena dreamers have been telling us for a l-o-n-g time that Doc Ramsey and TJ had gotten drunk on the "downtown" Kool-Aid. The two guys in charge had all but forgotten about an on-campus arena or something built at the Fairgrounds. Supposedly, Doc had even disposed of his polling data that told him where season ticket holders really wanted a new arena built.
What's that you say, the guy who (re)invented U of L athletics is now openly uttering the "S" word again? Did he hit his head on the Johnny Unitas statue while wandering out of the Schnelly Complex in a CO2 fog? Or did he just play along with the downtown money grubbers until the writing on the wall became a little clearer?
