Pitino giving #1 a run…LOL

You approached me. The average cop will call that stalking. I do too.

And then you inject personal info you googled. That’s a pattern of behavior.

It’s psycho…
Lol - you’re as bad at understanding the law as you are at sports.

Guy goes to a basketball game in a homemade tshirt literally begging for attention and then is “surprised” when he receives it.

Now, that’s psycho.

I don’t recall asking anyone to lead a whiner parade. Fired for cause is a clown show defense.

“For cause”…

No NCAA finding.

No FBI indictment, nor by any other entity with jurisdiction.

Pitino graciously walking away from a $40 million claim.

And bringing the Johnnies to this point ALREADY.

We’re exactly where we deserve to be. You make your own effing bed…
I have to agree with zipp on this one. Pitino should not have been fired but I do believe no-one foresaw the absolute train wreck that would come from it.

Lack of institutional control. Kenny Johnson and Jordan Fair were both given a 2 year show cause for their actions while Louisville was on probation under Pitino. Maybe he wouldn't be fired now because paying players is fine. Not sure where strippers and prostitutes would fall under NIL.

It’s not about an abstract standard. It’s about the state of this program in 2017. Flush with cash, fans, and NCAA tourney appearances.

Now it’s stuff to tell your kids about…

You act like you what happen before and in 2017 didn’t matter. It did just as much as the reaction to the problems. Move on.

There’s no acting. I’m looking at documented facts from 2017 and the timeline prior.

“Move on” proponents don’t like that…

Abstract? Your nuts. Name another coach who survived his program being on probation for supplying prostitutes to recruits who then had two coaches get a show cause, one of which was sentencd to a year. You won't be able to because it's unprecedented. That is as cut and dried as you can get it and no hyperbole will change it. Pitino is a great coach. But he totally effed a great program and a great AD. Both of which would still be great if not for his Lack of Institutional Control.

8 years ago today VP of Athletics Tom Jurich and University President Ramsey decided to self impose a postseason ban. Seems like a lifetime ago.

And in hindsight might not of been a good idea but who knows. They did what they thought was right at the time while being on probation. Who knew telling the NCAA to piss off (North Carolina) would work. Times are much different now. NCAA only has power in their minds and will probably be extinct soon.

Abstract = institutional control. Abstract = bad publicity.

Can't bank or spend any of that. Money, fans, and wins. Yeah, I can bank that stuff.

Of course, no two situations are alike. Louisville had hookers, and LSU's head coach was on audio making a "strong a$$ offer".

Where was Pitino on audio, video, or any other medium making offers to recruits? Doesn't exist which is why he walked.

The difference is how people were HANDLED. We chose the torched earth approach and are paying the price. We got what we apparently wanted...

Of course you can't find a situation like Pitino's ending at Louisville because nobody would be stupid enough to get caught paying players while on probation except a coach who had plausible deniability or didn't give a crap. As usual you left out important facts or ignored them altogether to fit a weak narrative. Louisville on probation. LSU wasn't. Louisville coaches again violated rules while on probation. LSU didn't. Louisville up shit creek starting with Pitinos failure to monitor his staff. Those are facts. I would make a graph for you but not sure how to put a hooker in a pie chart.

Man it doesnt matter, we were flush with cash! Screw morals and ethics.......

Who’s ignoring facts? Please show me where Pitino was found by the NCAA to be paying players or to have used a plausible deniability defense. Take your time with that.

Doesn’t matter if we were “on probation” whatever that means. Neither Pitino nor U of L was found to have done anything wrong WRT Adidas. Stick with the facts…

Pitino should have been fired after the escort embarrassment.

Maybe.

But the problem is 20K people who used to pay big money to go to basketball games as recently as 2017 on a nightly basis didn't agree with you.

Which by 2023, amounts to $8-10 million a year.

And he who has the money gets to make the decisions...

The problem is not that we lost RP. He deserved to be fired. There are plenty of good coaches....It's the fact that we lost the best athletic director who can pick those good coaches and create in environment for them to succeed. I believe the loss of TJ as AD was the most impactful loss for UL in the past decade.

No one’s denying Jurich is/was the greater loss. That’s not the debate.

I don’t often use superlatives. But the reason we will never average close to 20K per game was due to the presence of Pitino and how his termination was mishandled. I don’t know how far we can ever get back to that point, but the high water mark will not be hit again…
