Sorry Cards fans, the baseball gods are apparently pissed at me. Besides being a Cards fan since birth I'm also a big Atlanta Braves fan since the days of Dale Murphy and the TBS Superstition.
I watched (mostly) all six games this weekend and both my teams were swept rather easily with very similar results.
Friday, the Braves were rocked by the Blue Jay's 13 to 5. The Cards lost Friday to Clemson 11 to 3.
Saturday, both the Braves and Cards lost by one run, each loss coming in the last inning.
Today, the Cards were once again rocked 15 to 5 and the Braves lost 7 to 2. I guess a group of millionaires had a bit more pride at being swept than poor college kids?
Both teams problems is pitching. Both have strong hitting lineups and both have struggled more in the field than usual.
I can only surmise that my favorite teams are not in favor with the baseball gods, at least in this particular sports season.
So my bad guys.
I came close to predicting the score today. Only off two runs.
It's going to be a long summer.
