BHH started off much the same as last season but has noticeably improved as of late. After his 3 straight double doubles a few games ago, most teams have been trying to double him when he gets the ball.

He's trying to adjust and if he remains patient instead of rushing shots he can either make a play or score. He's averaging 10pts and 8.6 rebs and is playing with more consistent energy and motor than before.

As of now he's our only real big available.

Not looking it up but he was a borderline *5 just a cut below that maybe coming out of HS. It would be interesting to see how he would do in a structured offense that was built to get him the ball. Unfortunately, that's not what this is. But yes, he is turning into a legit guy.

I have been impressed recently with his moves in the post provided the guards and wings don't drag their defender down into the paint for the double team.

He had played really hesitant up until recently. Much more aggressive now and it's good to see.

Bigs in general take a while to develop. To me he was very mechanical which is more him trying to process things. Now he appears to be moving and reacting faster which allows his athleticism take over. Still not a great athlete but at least he is moving at the speed of the game.

Burns is going to be a problem for him.

I think he did great against Burns. There’s definitely been a switch flipped with BHH.
Burns got 2 fouls early played limited minutes in the 1st half. The 2nd half BHH couldn’t handle him. Every possession went through Burns with him either scoring or passing out for a 3. He ate BHH lunch on offense. Burns does that against a lot of people.

Now BHH did go at Burns in the 2nd half on offense at did well.

Burns accounted for 28 points
BHH 16 points.

Hatfield is getting better and maybe next year he becomes the focal point.

Burns burned BHH with that spin move and over the shoulder pass in the second half. Once BHH took it to Burns late instead of settling for fade aways and jumpers he did a little better.
