Nice win for the Hoos and the ACC. Taking down an SEC team makes it all the better!

1st ACC team since 1955. SEC will be there again next year. Too much good weather in the South where kids can play year round. Just like football. Warm weather is trending.

Baseball is a different game. You don't get too much credit for what got you to a particular game. You simply earned an opportunity to advance.

But you have to earn it again every game out. One or two bad games or a little bad streak, and you're through...

Glad Virginia won it, it was a great win for them and the ACC. There is a good chance an SEC team will be there again next year but there is also an equally good chance an ACC team will be there as well. Both conferences are Southern based and both conferences are loaded with good teams, we will probably hear complaints from the B1G conference about how these two conferences have an unfair advantage.

In what way is baseball unique? With the round robin and best of 3 format, you're allowed to have a bad game every once in a while. Not the case with basketball in the postseason or football at any point in the season.
