Reid Detmers makes his MLB debut today for the Angels. Dude has been killing it in the minors with a 15 K to 9 IP ratio.

And last night for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Drew Ellis made his first MLB start in his second ever game. He did go 0 for 4 with 2 K's. Hopefully Detmers has a better result.

Corey Ray is on the verge of being on the Brewers 26 man roster and if Brandon McKay can ever get healthy, he's the best prospect of them all.

Nick Solak lost his starting job with the Texas Rangers as he has been struggling, striking out a lot. Kyle Funhouser has had mixed results in his performance with the Detroit Tigers who have used him mostly as a relief pitcher.

And Will Smith continues to make his mark as the starting catcher of the World Series champs, LA Dodgers.

Louisville baseball is supplanting its flag on MLB. Henry Davis the number 1 pick has now awakened the media as they often mention these players coming out of Louisville. The only other school mentioned as much and more is Vanderbilt.

GoCards has Drew Ellis getting first hit at first at bat last night. ???

No, Ellis had a pinch hit in his first game. He went 0 for 4 in his second game. He's currently 1 for 5.

Reid got roughed up for 6 runs by the A's. His ERA is 12 point something. Much different than McKays debut.

But keep at it. Greg Maddux ERA in his rookie year was over 5.

Yeah, I was told he really lost it in the third. Big stage and nervous? I hope he gets another chance and does better.

The A's are pretty damn good. Don't think it was nerves, he just will need to adjust to these big league hitters.
