After ESPN's verifying of the cell phone text messages and talking with former players, clearly stripping happened in the dorms, but there are still questions I have about the extent of what went down.
Questions for Andre and UofL personnel:
1. Who knew this was happening and when?
2. How far up the chain did that knowledge go?
3. If they were using the side door - the emergency exit door - how did they disable the alarm and not have firefighters there every time it went off?
4. What was the nature of Andre and Katina's relationship? Sex partners? Friends with benefits? Side chick? Girlfriend?
5. What was the money order for?
6. Why would you pay for a recruit to get sex at the school you no longer work for?
7. Specifically for Andre: How did you keep this secret?
7. Also for Andre: Why did you believe this was necessary? What made you think it was a good idea? Was there someone who influenced this decision?
Questions in Katina Powell's story:
1. She claims she is not a Madame/Pimp, but she openly described setting up parties, arranging the dancing, organizing the payouts and prices and handling the deals. If she is in charge of scheduling, arrangement, transportation and compensation - how is she not a Madame or Pimp?
2. She said her motivation was "to profit off of my story" and yet says her first call was to the NCAA. Those two things don't jive. The NCAA would not have her profit off a story.
3. She says she contacted the NCAA and they hung up on her and didn't want to talk to her. She can't recall how she found the number or who she may have talked to other than that person being a "young white guy."
4. She told ESPN that she didn't want to bring guys names into this who didn't do anything wrong and just stopped by the party and yet, in the book, she names Mangok Mathiang as not participating but standing in the party. Either she or IBJ clearly wanted to include someone in the book who is on the current team.
5. The book does not describe a sexual relationship with Russ Smith, but her daughter told Outside the Lines she had sex with Russ Smith.
6. Her daughter added a sexual relationship with Montrezl Harrell in the OTL interview that wasn't in the book.
7. She says these parties happened nearly two dozen times, but her hand-written list in the book shows 19 and those appear to be all written at the same time from the same recollection.
8. She claims her daughters were "grown" enough to make decisions about sex, but the book describes them as 17 and 15 and that they joined the family business shortly after that.
9. Who is Coach Mike? She claims that the dancing happened from 2010-14 and that it tailed off in 2013 and 2014. Mike Balado was hired at the end of the 2013 season.
10. The dancer Mandy who was interviewed by ESPN says she was still in high school and 17 at the time of the parties.
11. She claims she kept all the information because she "knew someone who call her a liar." When would someone do that if she wasn't planning on making it public? If she didn't plan on writing a book, who would get that information? Who would call her a liar? Was she going to tell her grandkids the story one day? That seems like a weird statement to me.
12. More likely she knew she wanted to write a tell-all book, but if so - why didn't she snap a picture or two? The photos in the book are nearly all pulled from her daughters' and other dancers' Facebook pages and instagram accounts.
13. She told Lebatard that Andre and "others" would say they are going to the ATM and come back with stacks of cash. Who are the others?
14. The book describes a situation where Andre had the dancers perform for he and his girlfriend as they made out. Who is this girlfriend and what can she tell us about that weird scene.
15. How did more people not know? How did the students at Minardi put up with the music and wildness and hooping and hollering associated with strippers?
