It is clear that the United States is squarely in the middle of one of it's most difficult crisis periods since its creation.

Great Recession, Terrorism, 9/11, Busing, Oil Crisis, Watergate, Vietnam, 60's Riots, Nuclear Threats, Cold War, WWII, Communism Growth in US, Great Depression, The Great War, Spanish Flu, Civil War. They were all very bad. But, except for the Civil War, nothing compared to what's going on now: Barely Controlled Worldwide Pandemic, Universal Fear, Hunkering Down, Loss of Whole Business Sectors, Mom & Pop Closings, Massive Unemployment, Unheard of Deficits, Collapse in Education at all Levels, Prohibition of Crowds, Collapse of Cities, National Unrest, Racism Protests, Violence, Anarchy, Reparation Movements, Defund Police Movements, Boarded-up Downtowns, Socialism Movements. All happening at the same time.

And all are particularly bad for the city of Louisville ... perhaps the worst set of circumstances ever for this city.

With all that going on, and with so many athletic conferences shutting down sports, and with the concurrent push for college level student athletes to be able to receive much more real compensation for playing ... it's pretty evident that there will be major changes in College Football coming within 2 or 3 years. Probably College Basketball, too.

Several individuals have posted their ideas for how all this College Sports Mess turns out, on other sites. The more intriguing ideas describe how virtually-professional athletics may go forward in college. Basically alternate future realities.

One scenario I have seen, that makes some sense to me, suggests the major college-football playing schools will continue at two levels --- A "Masters' League", and a "University League".

The NCAA may sanction additional levels, but these would levels be the two playing some version of semi-pro ball bearing college names.

In this paradigm, the Masters' League would have 32 teams. The University League would have 43. For a total of 75 teams playing semi-pro college ball.

I do not think College FB continues in the way it's going. I think there will be major major changes implemented, very imminently. The major Conferences themselves, along with their strongest members, will determine those changes. And those major changes will occur within the next 3-4 years.

So a question I have for this Board, does Louisville make it into the Masters' League? And just which teams would comprise the 32-team League?

Spoiler: I am on the edge on whether Louisville would make it. To me it's a close call. To me, if Basketball is a factor, Louisville gets in. But I'm not so sure Basketball will be a consideration.
