Going forward, this data will change a lot. When Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC, BYU, Cincinnati, UCF and Houston (and possibly others) make conference moves over the next two seasons, the Average Per-Team amounts for all five P5 teams will change. The SEC and Big Ten average amounts will certainly increase. The Big XII and Pac-12 average amounts will stay about the same or decrease. The ACC average amounts will probably increase a bit.
But, it is useful to see this data now, before it all changes significantly.
What I show here is 1. the Average Conference Distribution Per Team and 2. the Average Other Revenue Per Team. This is for the 2021-2022 fiscal year (year ended June 30, 2022). It is all university data provided to the US Government in two reports. It is noted that Other Revenue consists of ALL other non-conference revenue, typically comprised of ticket sales, donations, marketing deals, etc.
This data combines all sports.
The first figure is "Conference Distribution". The second figure is "Other Revenue". The third figure is the sum of the first two. Everything is on a "per-team, average" basis, for that conference.
SEC: $49.9m + $105.3m = $155.2m
BIG: $58.8m + $91.0m = $149.8m (note: Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers are a little less)
B12: $43.5m + $84.7m = $128.2m (note: This includes Texas and Oklahoma in the B12 averages)
ACC: $39.6m + $82.1m = $121.7m (note: Notre Dame is NOT included in these figures)
P12: $37.0m + $84.0m = $121.0m
Some individual teams shown for comparison (the sums are as reported. The two individual components are derived and inexact, but close approximations):
Florida State: $39.6m + $122.5m = $162.1m
Clemson: $39.6m + $100.8m = $140.4m
Kentucky: $49.9m + $101.6m = $151.5m
Louisville: $39.6m + $100.4m = $140.0m
