John Calipari: "Some guys were relieved" When We Lost to Wisconsin

Way to throw your players under the bus !

John Calipari is clearly still sensitive about the loss to Wisconsin in the Final Four, the defeat that ended their season at 38-1. They were 45 minutes away from the sport’s first perfect season in over three decades – up 60-56 against the Badgers with five minutes left, as and then Kentucky choked it away.

I can’t believe that four months after the loss, Calipari is uttering ridiculous garbage like this:

“When we lost to Wisconsin, some guys were relieved in that locker room. When I walked in, I thought they’d be devastated. A few of them were relieved like, ‘whew!'”

Kids were relieved that they lost in the Final Four? Who, specifically, said, ‘Whew! we lost one game before the Championship and instead of history, we’re just another team that got to the Final Four.

WOW !!!

That’s just not believable.

Just wondering when was this article written? Haven't heard Fat Jone's talk about this guy to BBN.

The twins sure looked relieved when one of them said what he said about Frank Kaminsky.

How many other people interpreted that as a sign of relief?

UL fans were the ones relieved when Louisville lost and did not have to play UK in the final four. That was where the real relief was.

Nope. UofL fans weren't worried one bit about the Cards playing uk in the Final Four because UofL would've been playing Duke not uk.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! AHHHHH!! HAHAHAHAHA!

That is how you rationalize maybe the dumbest statement ever made by a head coach in college basketball history?

You got us. I can assure you there was no fear or concern at the thought of playing uk again in any game. But hey you keep telling yourself that while following that coach. He's perfect for you people.

Calipari said this crap, his words out of his own mouth. So there can be no "spin" he said it and you can't change that !!! LOL

Like clockwork, Cal put out an article on his website this afternoon backtracking on the comment, telling readers that after talking to Karl Towns about it, he realizes he players weren’t relieved, they were in shock.

In the interview, I used the term relieved to describe what I saw in the locker room. It wasn’t relief about wanting the season to end. That team wanted to win all 40 games – and thought they were going to. So did their coach.

When I walked in that locker room, I didn’t know what to expect. When I looked around, a few of them looked like they were in a daze.

I was talking to Karl Towns about it and his comment was, “We were in shock. The response wasn’t tears and anger. It was more of, ‘What just happened, we’re done playing.’ ”

I agree with Karl. They were in shock. A few were devastated, but what I saw more than anything when they settled in their seats was they were being reflective of the season and what had just happened.

Glad we got that straight. Now, let’s not talk about it again for a long time, okay?

Today 6 August 2015 Cal's response what a pure piece of crap he is !
