WoW Dickie V calling out a Blue Blood

They have been doing it for years it is just put in the open now. I do think the bigger schools will have the advantage over the smaller schools and eventually the separation gap will become obvious. The thing is Calipari has had better players than the rest of the country for awhile now and only 1 title.
The sUcK fan base is getting more than restless especially after this year. Mitch Barnfart even made a statement saying that they were going to evaluate the situation after they took an early exit in the tournament. John might be joining his son at LIU if he doesn’t get better results soon.

Dickie V can’t have it both ways. He blows all the big time coaches who take advantage of the system while crying for the mid majors. The number culprit is Saint John. Mid majors have always been at a disadvantage. Where they have an advantage now is in the high school ranks. There are lot of high school kids that can play. They are no longer being recruited to fill spots on Power 5 teams.

The Isaiah Wong (Miami) situation is capitalism at its best and worse. It is also an illustration how challenging this new era is going to be. Coaches can’t be involved in these deals. Therefore they aren’t going to be able to control who gets what. Players are chasing money not championships.

I have said this before NIL or pay for play deals don’t need to publized. They need to stay in the dark. It can ruin a locker room. Miami could lose a key member of a final 8 team for a guy that didn’t even make the tournament.

honestly, why is any different now than when a team knew the best player was getting illegal money on the side from boosters? rex chapman alleged drove an I-REX camaro around campus, you think other players weren't jealous? or eric dickerson driving around in a new trans am didn't make other players jealous? players know what's going on and they know when their fellow teammates (whom most will brag privately of what they got under the table) got paid. i don't think life is any different inside the locker room other than a kid can try and make more money off NIL instead of jsut being jealous of the others.

Players knew others were getting something but the details weren’t broadcasted. Plus kids couldn’t transfer immediately. Doesn’t mean the players playing with Rex were happy. Then the benefits turned from cars to cash and it was kept pretty quite.

With social media broadcasting deals is going to be problematic. Add in the immediate transfer rule now you have a powder keg.

Not against NIL but man this is the Wild West right now.
