I think the Withers experiment has run its course here. I wish him the best.
I agree. Withers had his time. It’s unfortunate because I think he could have been a really good player for Louisville and actually showed it in spurts. He has a lot of potential but does not appear to be the right fit here.

My greatest disappointment was his inability to improve on the defensive side, all the while knowing it was the key to increased PT, no matter the coach.
That and not drastically improving his handles because that would've been a key to unlock the way he preferred to play out on the perimeter.
I believe the lack of a bench the last 2 years hurt him. He didn’t have anyone that could challenge him. It didn’t prepare him for the better competition in games.

Good luck to him. I think he does benefit from a coaching change. His handle has always been a problem. With him driving into the lane it was an automatic turnover.
He just regressed. Hard to be sure why. Switched positions and that feels like the biggest change that set him back. I believe that was by his preference though, he did not want to play the 5 which is understandable from his view. But maybe he would have been better off remaining a 5 or something like that, and then when it was time for scouts to evaluate him, there wouldn't be all this negative film available.
Having 3 different head coaches probably didn't help, especially when none of them were all that good at being a head coach.
Good luck on his next stop. Maybe he gets a role that puts him in a better spot to succeed.

I agree with a lot of the other comments. It just seems he never fully understood his role and how he fit into the larger scheme. Having several different coaches didn’t help.
Even if that were true he didn't understand his role on offense that doesn't excuse his mostly pathetic effort on defense and rebounding.
Touché. No excuse. Defense and rebounding was a problem as a collective for the entire team. Team easily gets 12 to 15 wins this season with better defense alone. I will continue to argue that point.
His overall effort was very poor for most (all) of the season. Withers showed effort and his potential at times but was never able to put it all together consistently. IMO, he never looked comfortable on the floor. Not exactly sure why that was the case. Hopefully he figures it out and ends his collegiate career on a high note.

I am really interested to see where he lands and how he does. I am not sure what it means that all these ACC teams are interested in him. Ton of potential I guess.
Their practices were horrible and they always say the way you practice is the way you play game time
Hope he goes to an ACC school. That’s as good as guaranteed buckets for whichever Cardinal he “guards”.
