Why is Jackson still in the game

Not happening unless it's like 60-0 at this point...

Fake punt? I say play him in the 4th quarter too...
That punter for Marshall would get a little talking to if I'm the Herd's HC. Nothing wrong with celebrating a good play against a superior opponent but the preening and hand puppets for 10 minutes while you're down 52-7 would irk me.

Yeah Steelers,

Id like to see the entire 2nd team, and some 3rd teamers get experience.
Knock on wood, but you never know when youll need them.

They practice hard and deserve some live game experience.

Coach could always send a message during practice or pine time.

I think the decision when to take Lamar out has little to do with injury risk, in Petrino's world. I think it's about when he wants Lamar's learning for that game to be over. And perhaps when the other team has waved the white flag.

If it's about injury, why would Lamar play major minutes in most of these games? He can just as easily get injured on the first play as the last...

Petrino wanted to end Lamar night with rhythm. Also think something got under his skin late.

I wasn't a big fan of putting him back in the game. I was mad at the way Marshall, to be honest every team we've played all year, scores immediately after we put in the reserves. Even Charlotte started scoring as soon as the backups went in.

I'm all for making the point by putting the 1's back in but put the 1's defense back in. They were the problem, the 2-3's defense. They were the ones who couldn't stop Marshall from scoring every single time with the dull offense of just running it up the middle every time and getting 5-10 yards every time on our inept back ups. Heck, keep the number ones in on O too if you like but put in Bolin at QB. He needs the work and would play better if he had the ones to through to and to block for him.

I would rather he would have kept the starting defense in rather than the starting QB.

To be honest I'm sick of the reserve D. They give up points every time. They suck too bad. I'd rather they mix in some reserves and sub a lot. Have 6 starters and 5 2nd or 3rd string player playing together. Not just all 11 being backups. They can't stop anyone.

If you listen to Hikutini's post game interview, he pretty much says the team got off the bus a little flat--if that wasn't already obvious. Everyone who later came into the game probably had the same issue.

It was a game you got through to play the one everyone has been looking forward to since the FSU game. It's also good NOT to draw any broad conclusions, anymore than we did about our receivers' abilities to catch balls after the Syracuse game...

I'm glad you said this, lol. I have had the same thought. Put in the 2nd and 3rd and MU scores 21 points in mere minutes. Maybe they're just young, I don't know, but they certainly need to get better. I realize how ridiculous this reads after winning 4 straight games by 30-40 points. Butyou're right - they can't stop anyone right now.

I was a few rows up from Petrino all night. He was seriously not happy at points in the 1st and pretty much the entire 4th quarter.

That final drive when the Cards got the ball back with about a minute to go, up 31 points - I thought they'd just take a knee. But, no. They line up quickly and go about 70 yards in 30 seconds. After getting all the way down the field, we could see OC Galloway motioning to Petrino with the "slit" gesture, saying "That's it, we're good, enough, cut it off!!!!" We'll never know but I think Bobby would have had them score again had Galloway not done that.
