Why does it take so long to announce NCAA tournament times?

I'm sorry but in today's world the fact you have to wait until late Sunday night or even early Monday morning to get official times is pathetic. It hurts with fans watching at home trying to make arrangements to watch their teams' games and it hurts with fans who will have to try to watch the game around their work schedule (like myself). It also hurts the fans looking to attend as fans have no clue what session to purchase.

We all know that the tournament bracket was largely done days ago. The fact that there was very little seed movement from a week ago shows that the committee largely values the regular season over tournament week and that very few adjustments are made in the final days. The times should absolutely be announced at the same time as the brackets are coming out. They have plenty of time, the fact they make fans wait is just stupid.

I don't know what the story is, just guessing. It probably has to do with the TV networks and ratings. Kind of like how they flex NFL games late in the season, or how baseball games get moved from 1pm to Sunday night games. I agree they should find a way to be more efficient about it, but we're their last concern.

I've heard that U.K. almost always gets prime time slot. If that is true then we will have early session on Friday.
