Saw this question posed on the national board and I couldn't come up with any names. I know there's a big name out there I am forgetting.

Good question. I've been searching the web and not getting anywhere.

More recently we have George Bussey who became a 2x All-Big East O-lineman before his career was over and turned into a 5th round pick.

Marshon Ford may be the answer to this quesiton in 3 years though.

Frank Minnifield

AJ you just might be aging yourself and me. Frank came here from Lexington and became a star both athletically and academically. He was a math major and eventually became a member of the UofL BOT. Not to mention one helluva NFL player.

Mark Sander, MLB & Captain Fiesta Bowl Champs.

Minnefield chose to not take a scholarship. Got more $ in aid, could work a job, live outside dorms when not to on scholarship. I’m not kidding

I didn’t realize that Minnifield was a walk-on. Hell of a player!
He would be the correct answer for now, but I have a feeling that in a few years we’ll be saying Marshon Ford. (Former walk-on, anyway.)
