Not as much of impact as needed and same "encouragement" Rick gave his recruit from Seatle

Adel and McMahon look like their not use to playing against this level of athletes on a daily basis..Spalding looking like he wishes he was somewhere else tonight or he lacks a motor..Love Mitchell..

Adel got it going later in the game, and while not as impressive as Mitchell, he can contribute this coming season. McMahon looks young and will need to mature physically. You are right about Spalding. It was an all star game and no one plays defense but he picked the wrong night to take a day off. I have seen him play a lot better, this was his first appearance before most Card fans, and he was not impressive.

First of all, the dust hasn't "settled" on recruiting yet. Obviously Mitchell was the star of the DFC game, but Adel was really good as well. He had 20 points (2nd only to Mitchell for either team) on 8-17 shooting (1-2 on 3s; 3-4 FTs), 9 rebounds and 4 steals. He looked to me like he held his own really well in the game. Spalding only played 16 minutes and had 6 points and 6 rebounds. These all-stars game are for guys who can get and make their own shots; Spalding is not in that category at this point. Ryan's performance was disappointing in that he only shot 1-8 (1-7 from 3). He does not have the build to be much more than a spot up shooter at this point. Point being, recruiting isn't over yet, and Mitchell, Adel, AND Trey Lewis should make solid contributions next year. Add in whoever we MAY still bring in, and we do/will have a Top 5 recruiting class...as usual.

Also keep in mind that Ryan McMahan has not signed any LOI or FA documents and maybe his signing is on hold til we get other areas covered. Seems like a redshirt at best with how physically weak he is and the lack of athleticism to play D at this level any time soon. I do think he would be a good one year investment and then see if he matures and can add bulk and speed along with his shooting abilities.

He hasn't signed because the signing period doesn't start til Wednesday. He will sign on Wednesday.
