On the heels of a rather uninspiring game, what bowl do we go to now? Obviously this is not what we wanted, I still think we go to a pretty good warm weather bowl. We need to put a whooping on UK!
The B1G champ will go to the Rose Bowl if they are not in the CFP. If the champ is in the CFP then the Rose get first pick then the Orange Bowl.ORANGE BOWL if we win out probably against big 10 champ.
It's possible for Clemson to lose tomorrow, and we win the ACC title game (assuming we beat UofK) and still get the Orange Bowl bid. The Orange Bowl is about the best we can do now.Orange Bowl if we win out and Clemson wins out. We'd play the highest ranked Big 10+4 team that is not in the playoffs.
After that, who knows.

However if Clemson losses to Wake then we have another opportunity to not screw things up and win the ACC Championship and play in the Orange Bowl. That is the best case scenario because we still have an opportunity to win the ACC and the Orange Bowl and a Heisman. If Clemson loses in the ACCCG, then that winner (VT or UNC?) will get the OB. Clemson would be next in line for the next best bowl and we'd get stuck with what's left....more than likely Nashville or Charlotte. Hope that doesn't pan out.
Last night I saw 2 different projections of us vs Michigan in the Orange Bowl. I'd take that one.
The thing I find interesting in those projections is that they don't seem to think the committee is going to put 2 teams from the B1G in the playoff.
The B1G is a mess when it comes to bowls. If OSU beats michigan, Penn State wins the east. OSU doesn't even to the Champ game. So I guess they're assuming OSU beats UM. Somebody wins the B1G, but OSU goes to the playoffs. B1G winner goes to the Rose and UM goes to the Orange.
IF UM beats OSU, the whole bowl picture as we see it now gets blown to hell. They'll basically have to start over on projections.
The "IMO" says it all. That's all anybody has in this cock-a-maime CFP. Meanwhile, a 24 team field prepares to play for a real national title in FCS.You so confident the committee will leave out a 2 loss OSU team? I'm not. I think there's a good chance they'd take a 2 loss OSU over Washington. OSUs 2 losses would be to top 10 Penn State and #3 Michigan. OSU has wins at Oklahoma, at Wisconsin both of which are top 10 teams.
Resume means a lot. Washington doesn't have it at all compared to OSU. I may be wrong, but I think Washington is 1-1 vs ranked teams. The ranked team they beat (Utah) just lost this weekend, thus lowering Washingtons SOS. Then Washington lost badly to a then unranked USC team at home.
If the true goal is to get the 4 best teams, OSU is better than Washington IMO.
Plus we know how much they love OSU and Bama...........
Exactly. This limiting the playoffs to just 4 teams is nonsense. ALL it takes is one bad game and you're out UNLESS you are Michigan or some other blue blood program that seems to be given a pass when they stumble. It's absurd. The "IMO" says it all.
