What a travesty, Simmons ROY

Simmons played in wimpa$$ Eastern Conference and couldn’t guard a statue. D Mitch did not get enough early hype but he should have been ROY over Simmons who is also a 2nd year player!
First of all, the NBA Awards Show is stupid as hell. There isn't a more "pay attention to us" sports related program on television. Just dumb. Secondly, Simmons winning ROY isn't a travesty. He averaged nearly a triple double as a "first" year player. Sure, he can't shoot a jumper and his defense is non-existent. But, it was his award to lose from the get-go. Thirdly, Donovan won ROY as voted by his peers. That means a shit ton more than being voted by media members who likely can't even dribble a basketball. Lastly, beyond his abilities on the court, which are incredible, Donovan made the process fun. Sure, he's a former Louisville player and I paid closer attention, but he, in good humor, trolled Simmons every chance he got.
Simmons has enjoyed about 3 years of hype compared to DM's 2/3rds of a year as a star. ROY awards are voted on by people who may not follow closely and vote on perception. Donovan had an excellent year and was lauded as the ROY by his peers which he said meant much more to him.
PERFECT! Says it all, but D. Mitchell will survive all of this.
