I have watched sports close to 50 years and I have never seen a game so hard to believe with this game tonight. It's almost like point shaving is going on. It's so one-sided it's like we're a FCS team and they're Alabama. Every single thing has gone wrong. When there is a long play, we're called for holding.

Penalties, turnovers, fake punts, half back pass for a TD. This may end up being the most devastating loss in Cards football history. This game will push us back down the hump as a program that still does not belong with the games blueblood programs. More than just the playoff was lost tonight. The entire team has a lot to think about and I wonder if this disaster lingers against UK and the bowl game. It's one thing to lose this game and it's another to be totally embarrassed as a inept, unprepared and undisciplined team getting blown out in a game that they had to have.

As good of a season as we have had, if we lose this game 52-7 or worse, I won't be surprised if we lose everything including the games against UK and the bowl game and Lamar's Heisman. This is something that is hard to recover from. We simply don't look like we belong on the same field with Houston.

but,

Maybe there's an epic 2nd half comeback and everything I just wrote is SHIT!!!!!!

I don't think so.

We don't deserve to be considered for a New Years Day bowl after that first half of play. We got dominated. Period.

I challenge anyone to add a single superlative to the OP...

I wasn't challenging the content. I was just trying to find a place where the absoluteness of it was lacking. Maybe we can shut down the football program?...
LOL. If they play like that again in the second half, it might be worth considering.

Time to show some heart. :D

If I am UK, I look at the planned attack on the louisville blitz and i will simply throw over the blitz and beat them. I really do not understand the defensive gameplan.

Offensively, we have refused to run the ball all year with running backs and it is biting us hard.

We have 3 tight ends and can line up in a power run situation and even pass out of it just to get a rhythm, but it seems as though our head coach has the der in the lights look rubbing his chin, and all our DC wants to do is blitz and leave washington alone on an island.

couple that with Quick a senior WR just not wanting to get dirty or extend his arms past his body ever, and just throw 3 key 3rd down plays to him.

I would like to see us come out with some fire and turn this game around. The thing is we have the fire power.

will our coaches get the deer in the headlights look off of their faces.

I admit I'm a little emotional right now but shouldn't I be? Everyone who follows college football knows what's going on with the playoff and everyone of those people are watching this game. They are not emotional about it. They are just thinking Louisville must be a pretender because they are being blasted into oblivion by a team who was blown out by SMU. Cards fans on the other hand simply cannot believe what they're seeing and are reacting like maybe we were a bit full of ourselves to think we could beat teams like Alabama who have more than just one great defensive player.

Emotion is fine, and everyone understands. It just reads a little crazy going to extremes.

Picture how FSU felt after they were drubbed 63-20. You learn from it, and life goes on...

Piss poor showing, but I think some of you all are underestimating Houston.
100% right. It doesn't fully explain the results on the field, but I had feared Houston was a lot better than they've been playing.

Witness how many times one of their defensive front players has run down Lamar from behind. That speed is what our O-linemen are having a hard time dealing with...

LPT's RPI is 66, and they're overrated. Houston's is 38, and they're underrated.

I think you need to recalculate...
we stunk the joint up. #56 and #74 had 13 penalties between the two of them and they played Ole when they were not committing penalties.

as incompetent as UK is, they have to feel excited to play us on the 26th.

Our offensive line 11 games into the year looked every bit a pre season and unprepared line. That is on the shoulders of the line coach and he should be fired tonight.

I know we have this smithers majority here and this awe shucks majority, but that was crap hitting the fan. literally.

High school lines operate on a silent count and the #5 team in america is left with its head coach rubbing his chin looking lost in the headlights as Houston sent 9 in the box with reckless abandon and our offensive guru did nothing to stop it.

Our offensive line is pee wee league level and it was exposed tonight Zipp.

That line coach needs fired and it should happen tonight.

The DC needs to move on. he has a boner for the blitz andjust like in the Wake game, Houston took advantage of the over aggressive blitz.

if you think that UK will not look at wake film and houston film you are crazy.

The coaches lost this game not having the team prepared with a silent count.

I say they also lost it with avoiding a power run game, or even a short pass game.

Bobby had the same deer in the headlights look at Rutgers years ago.

he crapped the bed tonight.

We need competent linemen, and a coach who can have them line up correctly with the proper gaps. What we witnessed tonight should never occur on a college team.

All that I know is we need to: 1) practice ball control, 2) stop all the stupid penalties, 3) we need a good offensive line coach, and 4) stop looking past any team.

I know every teams lays an egg from time to time, Well, this egg killed our "Golden Goose" playoff hopes for 2016. I just hope we are prepared for Kentucky !

Now, I will shut up B4 I say something stupid while I am pissed!

BTW, if anyone hears that Ed Oliver is suiting up for the slapd!cks next week, I may change my opinion...

We are going to have a field day against that defense. All we gotta do is defend the middle of the field and Jackson will be sacked 8 plus times...
58th nationally in offense and 91st in defense.

You need to worry about Austin's Pee...

A lot of finger pointing went on during the game too with in fighting. That wasn't good to see.

It's disheartening to see Petrino so thoroughly out coached. The fake punt was obvious. The lateral/pass was being set up for all night. The noise was expected and yet not prepared for apparently.
clemson
duke
wake forrest
and then Houston
all exposed our coaches in a very bad way.
