First, I'm surprised at all the negativity here. So much so, that I had to make my first post after reading these boards for years. I guess people are either a) football dumb or b) dwelling in negative town after the hoops scandal. Either way, it's UK garbage and ignores the fact that this team/season, while frustrating, has a silver lining. Here's a few salient points to remember:

1) We are starting three freshmen and one JUCO transfer on the line. This is because Charlie refused to recruit O-lineman over the years. Flat-out refused. McNeil, Thomas, and Christian are going to be big-time road-grinding, bad-ass guys in the future - maybe as soon as next year.

2) Jackson is a stud....it's always great to have a stud QB - particularly one that's just a freshman with a veritable TON of upside. I read one post on here earlier where a guy expressed the opinion that Jackson should have been redshirted. I almost fell off my chair. The kid is our best player! Can you imagine if he had some semblance of a capable line or traditional running game to go with his skills? As is, he is the only reason we ever have positive rushing yardage.

3) Petrino has tinkered with the offense and it shows flashes of brilliance. Getting Reggie touches alongside Lamar is brilliant. It's just that our offense can't sustain drives due to all the holds and sacks. Again, see point #1 on this.

4) Defense has been a solid unit all year. Thought we got really tired at FSU, but our D has constantly shouldered the burden of playing in tandem with a bad offense the last two years. Guys are on the field too much after 3 and outs and turnovers. This is the sole reason we lost the Houston game.

5-We've lost three games to undefeated teams and one to a traditional SEC power - all while breaking in a new QB, struggling to find our identity, and AGAIN, having to play behind a porous line.

6-The schedule has been brutal....playing Auburn, Houston and Clemson in a 12 day span with a bunch of freshman and NO O-LINE is just ridiculous.

7-RELAX...things will get better. Bobby hasn't forgotten how to coach. I'm a betting man, and I will wager that Bobby coaches these guys up for the balance of this season. You will see improvement - maybe not major ones behind that line - but we will get better.

8-Lastly: We will make a bowl and will beat Kentucky. Mark it down. Now get out and support the team and stop with the entitlement. This board has been depressing lately. Man up, buck up, and go Cards!

I agree with the last sentence. Against FSU the defense did not fail due to fatigue. It was simply fundamentals and effort. They made a nice comeback today, though the guys on the other side were nowhere near as good as last week. We will improve, and the future looks bright. We have to keep recruiting, and with good roster balance.

The board is depressing because the team has been depressing.

Do you reserve the right jump back on the bandwagon when high tide rolls in again? Just asking. And while I'm asking questions, here's another: did you expect to be great playing this many freshman on offense?

The offensive line continues to stink it up only recruiting will fix it. Lamar has made lots of progress. He threw a bad pick yesterday in the end zone but his passing is getting better. I also think we need a speed back we have no one that can break a long one except for Jackson. That's where we needed James Allen it hurt he did not make it. That is one big reason you are seeing Reggie in the backfield he does have nice speed a little raw but expect to see more of him. The defense looked great yesterday but most expected this with a dismal BC offense. Lets hope the defense shows up the rest of the games they have some players just need to bring it each and every game.
