So, basically we found out at the 12:30 phone presser that the guarantee of a game last night for Jan 1st that Walz made at 8 p.m. turned out to be -- no game, it fell through -- at 8:45 p.m. Walz still trying to find an opponent for Jan 1st or 2nd at home before the Virginia trip. He did not reveal who the latest team was to back out and who he's now checking with.
We know it's NOT Bellarmine MBB. Someone was actually stupid enough to ask if such a contest was possible. I just love some of ou local "media".
He should know something about a game in the next few hours. Yeah. And the Bears will go to the Super Bowl this year.
It's still unclear if the ACC games that were postponed will all be made up or not. There's also a waiver out there that if a team doesn't get 15 games in, they can still undergo special consideration to make the NCAA Tournament.
All the players are back, healthy and have been practicing since Dec. 27th. Walz also said he is not worried about them being in game shape for whenever UofL plays again. He said that they practice at game speed and that conditioning isn't an issue.
