Man, VJ has really disappeared this season. He's barely seeing any minutes and has been ineffective when subbed into the game. I think Mack may have given up on him along with the rest of the fan base. We really needed his length against top teams but he looked lost and hesitant when on the court. He can't have regressed that bad. Dude needs to eat and sleep with a basketball to work himself back on the team.

VJ’s days are numbered here. No way he comes back next year with the limited minutes he’s getting. It’s probably for the best both for him and the team. I really feel for him, he stuck with his commitment to come here when the wheels were falling off. That is one reason I’ve really pulled for him.

It is disappointing to see a player fall so far. It seemed going into the season he would be the #2 or #3 option - and he didn't even play a minute the other night vs Duke.

He will almost certainly transfer out, and I'll be rooting for him wherever he ends up.

Only thing I can add to the$e comment$ i$ that VJ may have had $everal thou$and rea$on$ to come here when mo$t people que$tioned "why?"

APB out for VJ.

I really thought he was going to play a pivotal role on this team.... was really hoping for a big season out of him. Oh well. It truly speaks to the overall job Mack has done this year. Not much out of VJ or Perry (although Perry appears he may be very slowly turning a corner).

Crazy thing is VJ appears to be more of a UNC Asheville, Murray State, Austin Peay, etc. level player more so than Sutton.

I think VJ needs to go somewhere that will allow him a ton of freedom and lots of one-on-one opportunities. I'm not saying he's proficient at that but it appears that's the only setting he's comfortable with. He doesn't like to shoot off the catch, always preferring to put the ball on the floor before shooting.

I'm definitely not saying he's earned any more clock than he's getting but I'm a firm believer in confidence - he is currently playing with zero confidence.

If so, wonder how much UNC Asheville’s shoe company paid for Dwayne Sutton and Samford’s paid for Christen Cunningham?
I don't think Rivals rated either guy outta high school, i.e., no stars. That's where the $$$ comes from...

It is too bad that VJ can't find his way into meaningful minutes in the rotation. If VJ and Perry were playing up to their potential this team could really be something. Though I am impressed with what they have accomplished thus far.

If King was even playing like freshman year VJ it would be a good improvement.

It is really sad what has happened to his game.I watched the replay of the U of L/Duke game from 2016-2017 the night before we played them last week and V.J. was balling as a true freshman. He had confidence in his shot and he was not afraid to go into the lane then either.I get it each coach has his expectations and when you don't meet them you don't play but it just seems that somebody can work with the kid and help him find his game.I guess it's just like in school, if a kid doesn't get it right away they get left behind because there is not enough time to give that one on one time from week to week.

I think V.J. misses Rick. CRP recruited him and I'm sure had many individual instruction sessions with him. Maybe they clicked and CRP got the most out of him.

Anyone know if he is on track to graduate after the spring?
No idea but for his sake, I hope so. He seems like a quality kid and for whatever reason - it just hasn't happened for him here. Seems evident that he has played his way into being an afterthought for Mack and with the talent that is coming in next year, that doesn't look to change. As he typically looks his best in the early season games, IMO he needs to drop down a level and get his confidence back.

Hope he gets the opportunity to reinvent himself somewhere else and have a good senior season.

I agree, stuck with us during a horrible time and looks to be a really good teammate. If he stays, I hope he fixes his issues or if he leaves, I hope he kills it.
